GOOD MORNING ISCHIA! WEDNESDAY 30TH OCTOBER 2013
Welcome to our Ischia blog, Good Morning Ischia! Here you can see the entry for Wednesday 30th October 2013.
Good morning Ischia!
It's another bright and sunny start to the day and we look set for a clear day with the afternoon temperatures reaching around 23° celcius/74° fahrenheit and a very pleasant evening temperature of 20° celcius/67° fahrenheit.
So how do you plan to spend your day? Well you could do worse than head to the area around the bay of Citara for a complete day of relaxation.
Citara is home to Poseidon Thermal Gardens which can be seen in today's photo. Poseidon is one of the largest thermal parks on the island and has a staggering 22 different pools to choose from. The pools are naturally heated using the thermal water that bubbles up from beneath the island and you can enjoy a variety of water temperatures ranging from mid-20°C up to 34°C in pools of all shapes and sizes. There are also natural saunas carved out of the caves that look down on to the sea as well as some modern features such as Kneipp baths where you walk on pebbles in channels of water that alternate between 15°C and 40°C to improve your circulation.
Poseidon also has its own area of private beach at Citara where you can lay on the sun-loungers with tables and umbrellas for shade. There's a children's pool and a natural sea water pool as well as an indoor wellness centre with an indoor pool and treatment rooms where you can get various types of massages.
However, the most important thing to mention about Poseidon is that it closes for the winter period on the 1st November! That means you've got just today and tomorrow if you want to experience it this year, otherwise it will be opening its doors again some time in spring next year.
If you won't have time to visit Poseidon this year, don't worry as there are plenty of other places you can visit to enjoy Ischia's thermal water and we'll be keeping you up to date with all of the island's attractions throughout the autumn and winter period.
Ok, have a great day and we'll be back tomorrow with more from Ischia.
A domani!
