A quick overview of Ischia explaining where it is, how to get there and some of the things to do on the island.
Ischia is split up into six different municipalities which are called 'commune' in Italian with each one having its own characteristics. Most people's first sight of the island is the main port which is known locally as 'Ischia' and can sometimes cause a bit of confusion when it's being mentioned as the town rather than the island. The other five comuni on the island are Forio, Casamicciola, Barano, Lacco Ameno and Serrara Fontana. |

The things to see in Ischia section goes a lot more in-depth on sightseeing with a whole range of topics to choose from.
Something that most visitors to the island are interested in finding out about are the beaches of Ischia of which there are around 20 in total including the beautiful Maronti beach pictured on the right. There's also a collection of beautiful gardens of Ischia with the most famous of those being La Mortella in Forio. You can also get to know the other main sights on the island such as Castello Aragonese, the churches of Ischia and much more besides. |
