Buona sera everyone. It's a bit of a later update than usual today but what I can tell you is that it's been a mixture of cloudy at times and sunny at others with temperatures pushing the high 20's. It's cooled down a bit as we're getting into the evening and right now at 5:45pm it's 24° Celcius (75° Fahrenheit). Tonight will stay quite warm at 18°C (64°F) but we look set for a dip in temperatures over the next week or so combined with a few showers and a possible storm on Sunday. In fact it's hardly rained at all for the last 6 weeks so that will be welcome news to gardeners but perhaps not holidaymakers! With the island in full bloom I thought I'd leave you with a nice flowery photo of Castello Aragonese in Ischia Ponte and I'll be back with another update tomorrow. Ciao :-)

Afternoon everyone. Without wishing to sound corny it's another gorgeous day in paradise. It's beautiful and sunny with a bit of a breeze to keep you cool as you walk around, just how you would want it to be if you're here on holiday. Right now at 4:15pm the temperature is 26° Celcius (79° Fahrenheit) and tonight's minimum will be around 16°C (61°F). This really warm spell looks as if it might come to an end around Thursday when the temperature could drop a bit and there could also be some showers over the weekend. Tonight sees the last night of the Festa di Santa Restituta in Lacco Ameno, the event comes to an end with a firework display around midnight tonight. Ciao ragazzi! Wow what a beautiful afternoon we've got today, absolutely faultless! Not even a speck of cloud in the sky, a cooling breeze and the brightest sunshine you could imagine. Right now at 1:15pm it's 27° Celcius (81° Fahrenheit) and it's set to get even hotter as we get through the afternoon. Tonight will be the warmest night we've had so far this year with a minimum of 19°C (66°F) and then things calm down just a touch for the next three days. Looking ahead to next weekend there's a chance of some rain on Friday and Saturday but we'll wait and see on that. With all that in mind I think I'll go and have a little look around the island to see what I can find but for now I'll leave you with the calm and relaxing Chiaia Beach in Forio. We've got a sultry, warm, hazy day here today, the type where you don't put sun-cream on and end up getting sunburn so be careful if that applies to you (or even, apply it to yourself!). Right now at 5pm it's 27° Celcius (81° Fahrenheit) and it'll stay warm this evening, dropping no lower than 17°C (63°F). The rest of today should see a mixture of cloudy and sunny spells, continuing until tomorrow afternoon after which time we should see a lot more sunshine and even warmer temperatures. So as it's a Sunday I'm going to leave you with a nice shot of Maronti Beach in Barano which I'm sure you'll agree looks very tempting for a dip at some stage. Back with more tomorrow anyway. Hello everyone. It's a much cooler and darker afternoon in Ischia than we've had of late. The temperature rose quite sharply on a muggy evening last night which is usually followed by some kind of rain which duly arrived in the early hours. Those showers continued on and off this morning before leaving some heavy cloud cover which is still present. Right now at 4:30pm the temperature is 19° Celcius (66° Fahrenheit) and that will drop by no more than a couple of degrees this evening.  Tomorrow and the week that follows should see a return to the sunny and warm conditions we've enjoyed recently with no sign of rain for the forseeable future. Afternoon everyone, have you all got that Friday feeling yet? Well the weekend's nearly here so maybe you can start to wind down a bit now. It's a hot, muggy and above all, windy afternoon here in Ischia. Right now at 4pm it's cloudy with a temperature of 28° Celcius (82° Fahrenheit) with a minimum of 16°C (61°F) expected this evening. Tomorrow promises to be cooler with some showers expected throughout the morning before clearing up again for what looks like a very pleasant Sunday. Today's photo comes from the spectacular "Frecce Tricolori" aerobatic show that took place yesterday afternoon in Casamicciola and Lacco Ameno, all very un-Ischia-like but a refreshing treat nevertheless. Right now at 1:30pm it's 24° Celcius (75° Fahrenheit), dropping no lower than 16°C (61°F) this evening. The outlook for the next week is for much more of the same but with perhaps a slight aberration on Saturday when a few showers are expected. So on the surface it's just another average, peaceful day in Ischia but that tranquility is about to have a supersonic hole ripped right through it! Taking to the skies at 3pm in the air-space between Lacco Ameno and Casamicciola will be the Italian "Frecce Tricolore" team, performing all kinds of aerobatic stunts but for now I'll leave you with the peaceful Sant'Angelo. Having made my very first foray of the day outside I'm pleased to tell you that it's another beautiful day, very sunny but with a stiffish breeze causing a few ripples out at sea. The temperature right now at 3:15pm is 24° Celcius (75° Fahrenheit) and it'll be a warm evening too with a minimum of 16°C (61°F). Looking ahead, we seem set fair for more of the same and the gloomy predictions for Sunday have brightened considerably too. Today's photo comes from the Ischia Chamber Music Festival which started last night and continues tonight and tomorrow in Lacco Ameno. Hello everyone. Well what can I say? Yes it's another absolutely gorgeous spring day in Ischia making everyone apart from the island's gardeners happy. Rainfall has been in very short supply for the last month or so but we're not complaining! The temperature right now at 1:15pm is 24° Celcius ( 75° Fahrenheit) while tonight's minimum will be around 14°C (57°F). The forecasts for the next few days are quite steady although there may be a couple of days with some cloudy spells. The temperatures should hold steady too until we get to Sunday which looks like it might be a bit of an exception (mind you they said that last week and it was beautiful in the end). Afternoon all! We're once again basked in sunshine here in Ischia with nothing but blue skies and a breeze that's hardly noticeable and long may it continue like this! Right now at 1:30pm it's 25° Celcius (77° Fahrenheit) and there's no sign of any kind of change until Friday/Saturday but even then maybe just a few showers. Minimum evening temperatures for this week will be hovering around 15°C (59°F) with sunset coming at around 8:15pm. In our endeavours to keep you all informed about life in Ischia we explore the island for new things to do and places to see, and in the course of this we found a very interesting walking route from Frassitelli to Falanga yesterday which we'll tell you more about soon but today's photo gives you a sneak preview.
