Buona domenica everyone! It's a beautiful afternoon in Ischia and the perfect setting for "La Festa della Mamma" (Mother's Day) which is celebrated all across Italy with children giving their mums gifts and flowers so "Happy Mother's Day" mum if you're reading this :-) Right now at 1pm it's 27° Celcius (81° Fahrenheit) and possibly the hottest day of the year so far, there were a few light showers this morning but the clouds have all been blitzed away by now. The minimum temperature this evening will be 16°C (61°F) and looking at the week ahead there's no sign of anything untoward until Saturday at the earliest so it would be the perfect time for a visit! I'll leave you for today with today's photo of Ischia Ponte from the top of Castello Aragonese. Back tomorrow, ciao :-)
Buongiorno a tutti! It's another glorious afternoon in Ischia, a completely blue sky combined with a light breeze and a beautiful spring temperature which right now at 3:15pm stands at 22° Celcius (72° Fahrenheit) while tonight's minimum will be around 15°C (59°F). The forecasts for the next week are exactly what you'd be hoping for if you're here for a holiday with lots more sunshine expected and temperatures slightly warmer than today's at both ends of the scale. Tomorrow the Ischia 100 cycle race takes place around the island's main road and there will be some disruption to travel so if you need any further information, help or advice about that, be sure to ask us. Today's photo is from Chiaia di Rose Beach in Sant'Angelo. Stunning. Back tomorrow, ciao :-)
Good afternoon everyone. All is well on the Ischia front with another beautiful, sunny day. It's hard to think how conditions could possibly be better than they are right now, we've got a lovely warm breeze but it's some way short of being the really hot summer heat meaning you can still get out and enjoy the island by taking a nice walk or having a good look around. The temperature right now at 4:30pm is 24° Celcius (75° Fahrenheit) and as we go into tonight things might cloud over just a little to keep some of that warmth in with a minimum of 15°C (59°F). The forecast for the next 7 days is very positive, including a very hot Sunday. Today's photo comes from inside Castello Aragonese, looking across to Cartaromana Bay in Ischia Ponte. Back tomorrow, ciao :-)
Buona sera a tutti! We're in the post-lunch time malaise where the island slows down to almost a complete stop but of course there's time for a little snapshot of the current conditions. Right now at 3:15pm it's sunny with a bit of breeze around. Not quite as hot as yesterday but still a very agreeable 23° Celcius (73° Fahrenheit). We've had intermittent spells of sunshine mixed in with some clouds and that pattern should continue into this evening where we'll have a minimum of 17°C (63°F). The outlook for the next 7 days is for more of the same and what originally looked like a stormy Sunday should now pass with just a few morning showers. Today's photo shows the red bottlebrush flowers that are blooming all over the island at the moment. Back tomorrow, ciao :-)
Afternoon everyone and what an afternoon it is! It's one of those days where you have to squint as you leave the house for the first time because it's so bright. There have been a couple of cloudy spells today but for the most part it's been unadulterated blue skies and sunshine. The temperature right now at 1:30pm is 26° Celcius (79° Fahrenheit) and whilst there was a slight breeze this morning that is starting to fizzle out a bit. The minimum temperature this evening will be 16°C (61°F) while looking at the week ahead the pattern will continue until Sunday which looks like it might be a bit nasty. Today's photo is an aerial shot of the bustling town of Ischia Porto with its ferry and hydrofoil harbour. It all looks so peaceful from above doesn't it? Back tomorrow, ciao :-)
Ciao a tutti! It's another gorgeous afternoon in Ischia, sunny with the occasional hint of some hazy cloud but the big news is the temperature which is soaring beyond anything we've had so far this year. Right now at 1:30pm it's 25° Celcius (77° Fahrenheit) and that's set to rise by a few more notches yet as we get through the afternoon. The absolute minimum for this evening will be 15°C (59°F) so nothing more than a light jumper or cardigan needed if you're heading out to dinner somewhere. The outlook remains very positive and no sign of any rain until at least Sunday when there might be a tiny shower. For today's photo I've chosen the wonderful, mysterious La Scarrupata Beach which can only be reached by sea. Back with another update tomorrow, ciao :-)
Afternoon all. I guess for some of you out there it's still the weekend with the bank holiday but for others I hope your Monday back to work wasn't too bad and we're already into the afternoon anyway so the worst bit is over! It's a stunning afternoon in Ischia, sunny with clear blue skies and things are really heating up. The temperature right now at 1:30pm is 23° Celcius (73° Fahrenheit) while the minimum for this evening will be 15°C (59°F). It'll get a little bit warmer than this as we get through the afternoon and then tomorrow we should be in for a really hot day with as much as 29°C (84°F) expected. With the busy weekend over the island is much quieter so I'll leave you with a nice, peaceful shot of a purple-speckled Sant'Angelo in spring dress. Back tomorrow, ciao :-)
Morning everyone, I hope you're all enjoying your weekends, extended or otherwise. We've got another beautiful start to the day here and with plenty if sunshine and a very light breeze. Right now at 11:30am the temperature is already at 21° Celcius (70° Fahrenheit) and the mercury is only going to go in one direction as the island heats up further during the afternoon. The minimum temperature tonight will be 15°C (59°F) and the outlook for the next week could hardly be better with no sign of rain and a significant leap in temperatures just for good measure. Today's photo comes from the hamlet of Succhivo near Sant'Angelo where the villagers have created some lovely displays of flowers for all to see and are worth a visit in their own right. Buon weekend! Ciao :-)
Buona sera Ischia! Summer has well and truly arrived. It's been an absolutely gorgeous day with a noticeable jump in temperatures and things are set to get even hotter. The island has been very busy over the last 48 hours with a big influx of visitors here for the holiday weekend and the weather has been a treat for all those that made the journey. Right now at 7:15pm it's 21° Celcius (70° Fahrenheit) and that'll drop down to a minimum of 14°C (57°F) tonight. The forecast for tomorrow and beyond is fantastic with a mini-heatwave expected on Tuesday as we get up to almost 30°C (86°F). I'll leave you with today's photo in which any fans of American artist Edward Hopper might see something they like. Back with more tomorrow and enjoy your weekends. Ciao :-)
Afternoon folks! It's a sunny, windy and very busy 1st of May in Ischia. As in many parts of the world today is a national holiday in Italy, known as "Le Festa del Lavoro" (Labor Day) and as such the island is filling up quickly as people look to get away for the weekend. As mentioned, there is a bit of wind around and it's quite choppy out at sea but things are quite pleasant on dry land with the temperature right now at 2:15pm 20° Celcius (68° Fahrenheit). The minimum temperature for tonight will be 12°C (54°F) and the same pattern should remain in place tomorrow. From Sunday we start to see a nice jump in temperatures, reaching as high as 28°C (82°F) on Tuesday. I'll leave you with today's photo, a shot of Lacco Ameno harbour and the promise of more tomorrow. Ciao :-)
