More than a simple bar or café, Bar Da Ciccio is considered an institution in Ischia. The bar located right in the heart of Ischia Porto was established in 1947 and has built up its reputation through the generations by providing a welcoming environment for locals and tourists alike.
Many locals on the island will say that Da Ciccio is the best gelateria in Ischia and it's difficult to agree with this if you try one of the delicious ice-creams that are available either sitting down inside or from the kiosk that looks out on to the road.
The quality doesn't stop just with the ice creams though as the range of freshly made pastries and desserts using the Neapolitan tradition make this a busy place at breakfast time and throughout the morning with favourite sweets including the "Babà" and the "Sfogliatella".
There are several elements to Da Ciccio, the first is the main bar area with the till at one side where you can first make your order before going to the bar. In this area you'll find a vast array of sweet and savoury snacks on display while you can also grab a coffee or an aperitif at the bar.
To the left of the bar there's an indoor seating area with chairs and tables while many customers choose to sit outside on the terrace which looks out on to the bustling harbour area.
One further benefit of the bar is that it offers free WiFi so you can sit and catch up with your e-mails or the latest news while enjoying your drink or snack.
To reach Da Ciccio from the hydrofoil arrival port, turn left towards the main town and as soon as you reach the first roundabout you'll see the entrance on the left, usually behind a row of scooters and with its distinctive beige canopy above.
