Carabinieri or Polizia?

In terms of who to call in certain situations and what level of service they will provide, there is very little difference between the Carabinieri and the Police (Polizia). There are deeper, political and organisational differences between the two but if you have an emergency that you need a Police force to deal with, you can call either the Carabinieri or the Polizia.
