Palazzo d'Avalos Procida
Latest update: 22 January 2024
The Palazzo d'Avalos is the main building of the Terra Murata area of Procida.
The building was originally constructed in the middle of the 16th century and has since then had a colourful and fascinating history. Upon opening the Palazzo d'Avalos became a royal palace for the ruling Bourbon family of the time and stayed that way until 1815 when it became a military academy. |

The most recent incarnation of the building was as a prison which is what it was used for from 1830 until 1998 when it was closed. It remains closed to this day and it's only possible to see the outside of the building at the moment.
You can see various parts of Palazzo d'Avalos by visiting the Terra Murata or from the sea.
