ABOUT Ischia Review
Latest update: 8 January 2024
Ischia Review was set up in early 2013 in order to bring to light the beauty of the incredible island of Ischia in the gulf of Naples, Italy.
I visited Ischia in 2012 and was immediately swept away by the depth and scale of its charms, from the thermal parks and gardens to the beaches, gardens, Castello Aragonese, the fantastic weather and of course the food!
Having never heard of Ischia before, I was only alerted to its existence when I had the good fortune to meet one of its residents that autumn. After just a week in Ischia in October 2012, I decided that I had to return as soon as possible. After a brief stint in my native England, I made the journey from Surrey to Ischia, via the Alps in my little VW Polo which can still be seen winding its way around Ischia today, complete with its distinctive English number-plates and right-hand drive which still causes a few amused looks from the locals!

I have Italian origins and have travelled the country extensively but until 2012 Ischia had completely escaped my attention. It's still strange for me to think that this island that offers so much could have been missed by a self-confessed Italophile such as I am, and it occurred to me that there must be others out there that also love Italy that were not aware of Ischia.
The aim of this website therefore, is to promote Ischia's charms to the English-speaking world where it is relatively unknown compared to some of its near-neighbours such as Capri or the Amalfi coastline.
Since creating the website in January 2013, myself and my staff have had many wonderful experiences and met some great people. We have been able to share our experiences in words and with some great photos, and with the fantastic contacts we've made we have been able to create a cohesive set of partnerships with which we are able to offer visitors to the site with the best information as well as discounted packages on various attractions, car hire and restaurants with much more to come.
For me, the most enjoyable aspect of running this website is that it brings me in to contact with new friends from across the world who've managed to find the site and are interested to know more about Ischia. If you're a new visitor to the site then we'd love to hear from you, if you'd like to share a review of a restaurant or something you've seen in Ischia that would be great, or even if you're just interested in making some new friends in Ischia then we welcome you with open arms and look forward to hearing from you.
We have recently started a Facebook page in order to reach out to even more people and it really helps when you click "Like" on our page, so that the message of Ischia's charm and beauty can be broadcast to an ever-increasing audience. You can click on the "like" button below, or if you prefer, you can visit our Facebook page first by clicking on the blue button next to it.
So whether you're planning to visit Ischia soon or you're on the page to reminisce about your previous experiences here, we hope you find the website useful and interesting and we're here waiting to meet you.
Kind regards to all.
