Which Port?
There is just one port in Procida (Marina Grande) where ferries & hydrofoils connect with the mainland and the neighbouring island of Ischia. If you fly in to Naples Airport you have the choice of 3 mainland ports, two of which are in Naples city centre (Naples Beverello and Naples Porta di Massa) and another just north of Naples called Pozzuoli. For visitors travelling from Rome (or from north of Naples) by car it's best to take the ferry from Pozzuoli which allows you to avoid the busy city centre traffic in Naples. As Pozzuoli is much closer to Naples the ferries only take 40 minutes from there whereas from Naples Porta di Massa they take just over an hour.
Procida also connects with two ports on the island of Ischia - Casamicciola and Ischia Porto with journey times of as little as 15 minutes by hydrofoil or as much as 40 minutes by ferry.
Ferry or Hydrofoil?
The fastest way to reach Procida from Naples city centre is by hydrofoil from Naples Beverello port. The hydrofoils from Beverello take between 35-45 minutes but they cost a little more than the ferries which can take up to an hour and ten minutes.
How much does it cost?
There are two companies that provide crossings from Naples to Procida, Caremar and SNAV. Caremar provide ferry (€9.80 for an adult single) and hydrofoil (€13.30 for an adult single) services while SNAV only cross with hydrofoils which cost €15.90 for an adult single.
If travelling by ferry from Pozzuoli to Procida there is just one company that provides the crossings, Caremar. The price for an adult single by ferry is €12 while if you take the hydrofoil it's €13.
For crossings between Procida and Ischia there are three different companies to choose from, Medmar, Caremar and SNAV, as well as two ports, Casamicciola and Ischia Porto. Medmar only provide ferry services from Ischia Porto (€7.10 for an adult single) while Caremar provide both ferry (€11.90 adult single) or hydrofoil (€12.70) crossings from either Casamicciola or Ischia Porto. SNAV only use hydrofoils and sail from Casamicciola port only with a single adult ticket costing €9.20.
