Dear Dion
My apologies for the delay in sending this but I wanted to tell you what a wonderful time I had in Ischia in great part thanks to you and your team.
The driver that picked me up in Naples was funny! He was also diligent in securing my ferry ticket and trying to make sure I knew exactly where to wait for the ferry.
Peppe was kind and informative. He answered questions I had, was clear with directions of where he would meet me as a walked a bit in the different areas the tour stopped in, and gave nice recommendations as well. Also, it was nice to learn that his son and I both work in the fashion business. He was really personable and professional.
Finally, Carmen. She was outstanding! Her communication was great: she gave me three itineraries to choose from, She was able to alter my choice to fit a shorter time frame and she made our meet up easy. My hike with her was great and exceeded my expectations. Her historical knowledge of the island in the context of the environment and why the island exsists the way it does today was super interesting. She knew so many little details of the plants that we came across, the terrains, vineyards etc. I loved going to the bay of pelara - what a treat! She also brought eggs from her chickens and boiled them in the thermal water before we took the little boat to the final stop sant’ Angelo! If this wasn’t enough, she ended up to invite me to dinner at she and Jeff’s beautiful home. He is hilarious and they are such gracious and kind people - I feel lucky to have met them.
On a personal note, this last year was quite difficult for me and this trip was a a sort of “gift” to myself. But I had been apprehensive about traveling alone (it’s the first time I had traveled solo outside of France) but your service ( the tours, transfers and even the restaurant recommendations on the site) made everything stress free and kind of magical.

“What a fabulous holiday we had in Ischia, thanks to Ischia Review ! We cannot recommend them highly enough, giving us all the information we could possibly need in order to be able to plan our holiday to Ischia. From information on local attractions, activities and venues to timetables for ferries to visit surrounding islands and everything in between - they were super-efficient and made planning our holiday so easy. Once we arrived in Italy their fantastic ‘Door to Door Collection Service’ made our arrival at Naples Airport to getting to our accommodation in Ischia and return so easy, we cannot recommend this highly enough for a stress free holiday !

I emailed Dion to ask for help booking a Covid test for my flight. Not only did he reply quickly with valuable information about the booking procedures at nearby pharmacies, but he texted one of them on my behalf when I was having issues with WhatsApp.
Thanks to Dion, I made my flight—I never would have been able to navigate the process in Italian, and I’m beyond grateful that he’s around to offer Ischia visitors advice about the area!

My adult daughter and I are Texans who live in Paris. We learned of Ischia from neighbours who have visited Ischia each summer for 40 years—now we know why! Incroyable!
We planned this as our first trip since the covid crisis, choosing Ischia in great part due to the island's tremendous, responsible vaccination efforts (100% of eligible adults vaxxed since last April), on top of our neighbors’ referral. When researching the what and where questions, the IschiaReview.com website constituted an invaluable resource explaining the different parts of the island, the beaches, unique things to do, and logistical info like how to get around (ex: ground & water taxis). Flag this site right now if you are planning a trip!

We were introduced to Peppe Lauro through Dion at Ischia Review. He was a consummately reliable and professional taxi driver. We stayed on Ischia for a month and used Peppe almost every day. We sometimes used him for spur of the moment drives, and he always arrived promptly. If he couldn’t make it, he would send a reliable colleague who could. We often scheduled him for evenings out. He would pick us up and get us to our dinner reservations on time, and we would text him 20 minutes before pickup at the end of the evening and he was always there.
He is personable and friendly but respectful and not invasive. We have two young children and Peppe was helpful and patient with our car seats. Both of our children loved Peppe, and I swear that the second word out of our 1-year old’s mouth was “Peppe.” One evening before picking us up from dinner, Peppe left candy on the seat for our 3-year daughter with a sign that said “For the principessa.” She still talks about it.
We had Peppe take us to Pompeii for a day trip, from Ischia to the Rome airport, and pick up our visiting family members at the Rome airport and drive them to Ischia. He was very affordable, he handled all of the ferry tickets and luggage, and would assist with anything we needed (e.g., finding bathrooms, snacks, etc.). He is responsive on Whatsapp.
When we return to Ischia, we will only use Peppe and highly recommend him as a driver!

We are in the Naples airport, all checked in and through security :)
Everything went perfectly this morning, with both drivers waiting right where expected.
I want to tell you how incredibly glad I am that I found you and had you handle all the arrangements. The cost was well worth it. Like the commercial says - “priceless”. We don’t speak any Italian and the way things work in Europe is so much different from the US. And when we can’t read the signage, that makes it more difficult. So at each point, all we had to do was look for our namecard. No searching for taxi, trying to explain what we need or where we want to go. Also since I was traveling for the first time without my husband, the security of having things pre-arranged was wonderful.
Thank you for having such a great service and great organization of everything! The next time we travel to Italy or I hear of anyone traveling to Italy, I’ll be sure to look you up and see how much you’ve expanded the areas you serve!

I just wanted to tell you how pleased my husband and I were with the transportation arrangements and island tour of Ischia that we scheduled through your company. All three parts worked very well, even with the last minute weather issues. The driver who transported us from Rome to Ischia was prompt and professional and helpful; he was also on top of the last minute changes in our schedule. The guided tour was not just enjoyable, but also quite informative as we were trying to search out some of our "roots"; we think the guide did a great job. Finally, although relatively brief, the pick up in Naples from the Ferry was also completed by a driver who was there waiting for us when we arrived and fought his way through the traffic challenges of rush hour to get us to the airport with plenty of time for check in.
Thank you again for the many communications that scheduling these arrangements involved; it was a very positive experience and we would certainly recommend your company to friends/family should the opportunity arise.

We’ve just returned from 11 nights in Ischia. Despite the heat of ‘Lucifer’ we had a wonderful time and would thoroughly recommend Garden & Villas Resort. A lovely, unpretentious hotel within easy reach of Lacco Ameno, La Mortella and Negombo etc. We hired a Smart car for one day and enjoyed visiting the island. We also went to Naples for the day which was fast and easy from Casamicciola.
But our highlight was the Gozzo 850 boat we enjoyed with our friends on Paul’s 60th birthday. Our skipper, Leo, was charming and very helpful and took us to a lovely restaurant only accessible from the sea. So thank you for arranging that for us. On your recommendation, we went to Indaco (twice) and Giardini Eden. Both in beautiful settings but Indaco’s food was outstanding. The restaurants generally in Lacco Ameno were good and we didn’t have a bad meal anywhere.
Your website and advise were invaluable and I will recommend Ischia Review and your lovely island to our friends!

Sherryl wrote to ask asking about our private transfer options as she was travelling with her parents and was looking for a way to get them here without them having to carry their luggage too much. One of the options we offer is what we call a "Direct" transfer where the same vehicle that collects you in Naples travels on the same ferry and then continues on to your hotel or apartment in Ischia. Our driver is then able to assist with the luggage at the airport and safely stow the luggage in the taxi for the whole journey. Most transfers we do are what we call "split" transfers where we use one taxi in Naples and one in Ischia. These are the cheaper option but in Sherryl's case the Direct option worked well and here's what she said when she got home:

It made such a difference to the holiday with my parents being 77 and 79 it meant them not having to handle the luggage.

We get lots of requests for private transfers from Naples with many travellers wishing to avoid any hassle with onward travel to Ischia once they arrive at the airport. Apart from providing the transfers themselves we're also on hand to deal with any emergency situations. Quite often flights are late and if it's an evening flight there's a risk of missing the last ferry. Matt booked a transfer with us for him and his family with a flight due to arrive at 19:55. That flight was then delayed and there were further problems with delayed ferries but with our team in the office working with the drivers we were able to bring the family across to Ischia without any further hitches. This is what Matt said after arriving in Ischia:

Just to let you know that we were delayed again after my last email to you and we arrived in Naples late. It seems that there was a conspiracy to make us late; the only thing that worked well was the transfer from Napoli to Ischia.
As I mentioned we were very late in landing at Napoli but the taxi driver was brilliant. He managed to get us to the port in time for the ferry (which was delayed also). So would you be able to pass on my gratitude to the taxi driver who saved us from spending a night in Napoli!

Michael first got in touch with us as far back as January 2017, planning ahead for his family's holiday in June. We provided travel advice, ideas for things to see and do on the island and also booked a car and a boat tour. Shortly after getting home Michael kindly wrote in to say the following:

One of our most popular services is boat rentals. We have a number of boats available and Bryan and his partner took one out for the day. At the end of the rental he kindly wrote us a note about it.

Angela wrote to us shortly before Easter as she was interested in attending the Corsa dell'Angelo event in Forio but was a bit confused about the best place to see the event from. We provided Angela with details on this and advice about how to make the most of the day and here's what she said when she was back home:
Hi Carolina, we recently returned from our trip to Ischia and would like to thank you for your very helpful response regarding the 'Angel's Run' in Forio. We managed to get there but Mass was standing room outside only! However, we waited for the band to come up to the church and joined the procession down to the square and watched it from there. I am so pleased that we got to experience this very traditional event and would like to return one day to witness the Good Friday Passion play. This was our first ever time to Ischia, and indeed Italy! We were blown away by the kindness of the people on the island & the beauty of the island itself. We stayed at the Garden & Villas Resort which was amazing and even though we have always said we would never go to the same place twice, we are going to make an exception with Ischia!

With the airport transfers that we operate we really do our best to look after our clients. When flights are delayed we simply reschedule the collection and instruct our drivers to ensure you make the next available crossing to Ischia. Peter's flight was severely delayed but once he got to Naples we made sure the final part of the journey was nice and smooth.

I would just like to thank you for the smooth and on time transfers arriving and departing to and from Ischia although our arrival time at Naples was quite late we were fortunate our luggage was collected from the conveyor belt quickly and the taxi driver did an excellent job getting us to the port with only 8 minutes to spare before the Ferry departed.
I would not hesitate to recommend “Ischia Review” transfers to my friends and colleagues.

We first heard from Anthony in April 2015 as he was looking for some help to organise his honeymoon in Italy in July that year. Among their proposed stops on a whistle stop tour around the country was Ischia. After a great deal of planning we helped Anthony to come up with a list of activities that would allow him and his bride to be to really make their most of their time on the island. We provided them with transfers to and from Naples, a boat tour around the island, an excursion to the Amalfi Coast, a scooter rental and a cooking lesson. Anthony didn't get the chance to write to us until January 2016 but when he did he had this to say:
This review is long, long overdue! My wife and I were married last July, and honeymooned in Italy for 12 days after our wedding. Taking the suggestion of a friend, I decided to handle the travel planning myself as a fun way to surprise my bride! I had visited Italy once before, several years ago, but this would be her first time. I wanted to treat her to a trip of a lifetime! And make sure she experienced the best of Italy. Unfortunately, we only had 12 days - and wouldn't be able to visit every spectacular region Italy has to offer. I wanted to find the right balance for our trip: experiencing the history & culture that the innumerable museums, churches, and monuments have to offer, while finding time to kick our feet up and relax...preferably on the water somewhere - it was our honeymoon after all! Also, I did not want to spend half of our vacation as "travel days"; getting from one place to another. I decided we had to visit Rome, especially since she had never been, and experience the richness and culture of the eternal city! Then, the task became finding the perfect spot for a little rest & relaxation. After hours of searching "Italy's best beaches", "Best islands in Italy", "Italy hidden gems", and other search phrases, I stumbled upon Ischia Review. After exploring the site and reading the many, many helpful articles (not to mention the beautiful pictures!) my heart was set on Ischia. Even better, it was a short travel distance from Rome - which would maximize the time we had to enjoy the island. The website alone served as an invaluable resource to the island and helped in my decision to stay on Ischia, rather than Capri, Positano, or the other area destinations. However, this was just the beginning of my wonderful experience with Ischia Review. Shortly after finding the site, I emailed the owner, Dion, with a few questions and a request to help plan the perfect trip. We exchanged many emails and even had a Skype conversation, discussing all the different activities available on Ischia. Dion was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and responsive! He helped me find the perfect blend of activities to balance fun & adventure with the rest & relaxation I wanted. I could not have done it without him! With the help of Ischia Review & Dion, we coordinated transfer to and from the island, scooter rentals, boat rental, and even a cooking lesson! This made the planning process extremely easy, especially for someone with limited international travel experience.
My wife was delighted when I revealed our honeymoon destination to her. She had never heard of Ischia, but it quickly became the most anticipated part of the trip after seeing pictures of the beautiful island. Although I revealed our destination, I kept much of the itinerary a surprise. After exploring all the majestic sites in Rome, we hopped on the train down to Napoli. Waiting for us at the station was a driver, holding a sign with our names on it. He took us directly to the port, purchased the hydro tickets for us, and showed us where to go. After a smooth, short ride over to Ischia, again we had a driver waiting for us. He drove us along the beautiful, winding roads directly to our hotel - Costa del Capitano, in Sacchivo near Sant'Angelo. The transfer from train to hotel could not have been easier, thanks to Ischia Review! It was completely effortless for us, and eliminated any stress of trying to navigate for ourselves, speaking very little Italian!
We spent a lazy day, enjoying the luxury & spectacular views from Costa del Capitano. The next morning, my wife's first surprise activity on the island was waiting: a scooter for two, delivered to our hotel (again, thanks to Ischia Review!). This was not only a very convenient (although, sometimes scary if you're inexperienced!) way to get around, but was incredibly fun. We toured our side of the island, navigating our way to Forio, Lacco Ameno, and Casamicciola. We returned the scooter to the shop in Forio the next morning, right in time to pick up our boat rental from the port! This was an amazing experience, maybe our favorite activity of the entire honeymoon! Again, everything was set up for us - all we needed to do was provide identification and pay for the rental (which was very inexpensive!). After that, we were on our own for the day - cruising around the island, witnessing the incredible views of Ischia from the water. We packed lunch and anchored in several different spots throughout the day to swim. An entire day on the water, with our own personal boat, was the perfect day! Dion was very kind to correspond via email during our trip and check in to make sure everything was going well. He helped adjust our schedule a bit, so that we could squeeze in a day trip to visit the Amalfi Coast. After a couple of days relaxing at Costa del Capitano and exploring Sant'Angelo, we decided we wanted to rent another scooter to get around easier. We arrived at the same shop we rented from previously, but ran into some trouble...when the manager did not speak any English. After a failed attempt to communicate in my broken Italian, we thought to call Dion. The manager called from his desk phone, and I explained the situation to Dion. He helped translate and set up another rental for us! He truly went above and beyond to help us in this situation and we couldn't be more thankful! That evening, our final planned activity on Ischia was a private cooking lesson just outside of Forio. We arrived and were greeted by the owner, at the most charming family-owned restaurant, La Casereccia. What a fun experience! We sat down in the kitchen with the owner and his mother (who is the chef), and watched & learned how to make a few of their signature recipes, sampling everything along the way! By the time dinner was prepared, we were already stuffed from all the samples, only to find out that we would then be treated to a full three course meal as well. The food and wine were so delicious that we couldn't resist! What we thought was going to be an hour cooking lesson turned into a three hour feast! Our host was so gracious and treated us to an evening we won't forget.
Our final day came, and we were so sad to leave "our little slice of heaven." The taxi picked us up in the morning (arranged by Ischia Review, of course!) and took us to Ischia Porto, where we ferried back to Napoli, and caught a train to Rome. The entire trip back to Rome we recounted all the amazing memories we had made, and started dreaming about when we could return to Ischia!

On the original e-mail she asked us from some advice on which ferry to take from Naples and what to tell the taxi driver when they arrived at the airport. We first heard from Tom in June 2015 as he was planning a trip to Ischia in September and needed some help and advice. Sophie chose use for her and her partner's airport transfers in September 2015. By the time they left the airport they were running a bit late for the earliest ferry but our driver got them there in time.

Vincent got in touch with us in June 2015 to organise he and his partners transfers from Naples to Ischia later that month. Although the couple had to cancel their original flight on the morning that they were due to travel, we managed to rearrange things quickly at this end so that when they flew over at a later time our driver was ready to take them to their hotel without any hitches. We were contacted in June 2015 by a lady called Cecilia who had planned to stay at Hotel Da Maria in Ischia Ponte in July. As this particular hotel is best reached by water taxi we helped Cecilia by speaking to the hotel on her behalf to see what would be the best way to organise this. In June 2015 we were contacted by Wendy who was organising a holiday for her and her husband who were going to be staying in Sorrento for a couple of weeks later that month and wanted some help with ideas for excursions. In response, we put together a day tour for the couple which allowed them to make the very most of Ischia in the time that the hydrofoils timetables allowed, meaning they were able to see the whole island as well as longer stops at a vineyard and at La Mortella Gardens. The couple were initially a little nervous about making travel arrangements for their holiday such as transfers to and from the airport, especially so as it was their honeymoon which they wanted to go as smoothly as possible. I know I have said it before but I have to say it again, you guys are absolute stars, really. I have been working as a flight attendant for more than 7 years and I have been pretty much everywhere around the globe and as travelling is still my number 1 hobby I spend a lot of time reasearching desitnations and all that nad I have never come accross a website quite like yours. Me and my wife we just returned from spending a wonderful 7 days in the Island of Ischia. It is just a short boat ride from the "Porto" of Naples. The island itself is a beautiful site, unique in all of Italy. The people are very warm and helpful. The food is excellent; most produce and fish is produced locally and thus the quality of the fare at the table is exceptional.Ischia Review . com was very helpful in organizing for me Italian lessons and Bel Canto lessons at my own hotel; reasonable priced and with very nice and able teachers, (they offer many other services). The most popular of the services that we provide is our taxi transfer service that takes visitors directly from the airport or train station in Naples to their hotel (or other accommodation) in Ischia. A huge thank you to Dion for his help in planning our wedding; organising something abroad while based in the UK is tricky, but Dion managed to find me some fantastic contacts, including some amazing musicians and some lovely bomboniere. My endless requests towards the end were probably very annoying, yet he dealt with all of them in a patient and efficient way. Had a lovely time with Paolo. It was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed the class. He is a very nice man with completely, nearly fluent English and I could understand exactly what he meant.
He was very generous with his time and the whole experience was a pleasure. My husband joined us to eat our lunch and he was delighted with our efforts.
I would highly recommend him to anyone.
It is a lovely island and my cooking class has been the highlight of our visit.

In June 2014 we had the pleasure of the company of a group of 7 friends who were enjoying a tour around Italy and decided to pop over to Ischia as part of their trip. With group-leader (apologies of this sounds a bit military!) Suzy's requests for various types of activities that she wanted the party to enjoy during their stay, we put together a programme of events that included a guided tour, lessons on how to make the traditional dish of Ischia, "Coniglio Ischitano", a tour of one of Ischia's vineyards, a musical evening out as well as transfers to the main-land and around Ischia. With our contacts we were able to help the group have a really fun time on the island, so much so that one of their number, vice group commander in chief Bill, decided to put pen to paper to describe his feelings about how it all went. Rather than stealing his words you can read exactly what he said here on his blog.
