FIAIANO
Latest page update: 1 December 2024
Fiaiano is a "frazione" of the comune (like a borough) of Barano.
The village is home to the Indiana Park activity & adventure park used by children and adults alike. A mainly residential area there is no large collection of shops but there are a few bars and restaurants such as Nik Bar, Ristorante La Rosa dei Venti and Il Borghetto. Fiaiano is also home to two churches including the unusually modern Parrocchia Maria SS Madre della Chiesa and the more traditional Chiesa di San Giuseppe e Sant'Anna. |
There is also a large UPIM supermarket which is one of the largest of its kind on the island.
How to get to Fiaiano
Fiaiano occupies the space to the west of Ischia Ponte and to the north of Piedimonte. It can be reached in several ways including private transport. Perhaps the easiest way is to use the main SS270 road and to then enter the village of Piedimonte. Drive through and to the right of Piedimonte and you will eventually arrive in Fiaiano. You can also drive directly from Casamicciola using the Via Vicinale Cretaio which passes by the island's crater (Cretaio) and the Il Focolare restaurant. There are two bus routes that pass through the village, the number 6 from Ischia Porto and the number 10 which runs down to Maronti Beach.
