IL BORGHETTO
IL BORGHETTO
Il Borghetto is a stylish restaurant in the hills of Barano. From the gravel courtyard outside to the fresh, white walls inside everything has a feeling of elegance which is only heightened when the staff give you a professional and warm welcome. There are serveral indoor dining areas including one which used to be a church and has only just opened in its new guise.
The menu includes traditional Ischitan dishes such as Coniglio all'Ischitana as well as a good selection of appetizers, pasta and fish.
Don't be deterred by the slightly tricky directions to find the restaurant as its well worth the extra effort. Once you get to the top of the road you get some fantastic views across the island and the building alone is worth a visit.

Directions:
Il Borghetto is tucked away in the hills of Barano and best reached by car. From the main SS270 road in Barano, head inland along any of the main roads which takes you to an area called Fiaiano. You will eventually come across a road called Via Provinciale Duca degli Abruzzi. If you turn right at this point you will carry on climbing up the hill and eventually reach Casamicciola. However, do not turn right, instead carry straight on to Via Vicinale Cirillo, a road which narrows as it twists up and around the hill. There are signs for Il Borghetto from this point although not always that clear. Don't be deterred though, if you continue driving until you reach the top the restaurant is obvious to see with its large car park.
