CASA MUSEO
CASA MUSEO
Guide to the Casa Museo museum in Ischia with photos, description and opening-times.
The Casa Museo, or "House Museum" is located on the main SS270 road between Serrara Fontana and Barano and is the creation of owner Salvatore Di Meglio.
The museum consists of a collection of artefacts from ancient times in Ischia as well as Di Meglio's own artwork such as the mosaics that line almost every wall, made from pebbles, sea-shells and other natural resources.
There are a series of intriguing tunnels to explore and some fascinating items such as the bathroom which is almost entirely covered in pebbles but still functions with the bath and sink still in use.
You can also climb outside up a path where the view from the top is fantastic and a great place to stop for a picnic.
Entrance is free but you have the choice of leaving a small tip as you leave.
The museum is open most days throughout the spring, summer and early autumn.
