TORTA CAPRESE RECIPE
Our secret chef on the island of Ischia is revealing all of her recipes, here we show you how to make Torta Caprese!
How to make Torta Caprese
Ingredients:
Peeled almonds ground (300 gr)
7 eggs
Butter (200 gr)
Sugar (120 gr)
Dark chocolate (150 gr)
Vanilla baking powder, 1 sachet (in Italy we use a product called “lievito Pane degli Angeli”)
Preparation:
Beat the eggs (whole) with the sugar until the sugar melts.
Melt chocolate and butter “à la bain marie” (not directly on the fire but with a pot of boiling water underneath)
Add chocolate and butter to eggs and sugar and stir well
Add the almonds and the baking powder
Pour the mixture into a buttered cake tin, 26cm in diameter
Put in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 40 minutes
Serve with ice cream or cream
