BAR IL PANINO
Bar Il Panino is a popular snack bar located in the bay of Citara, just across the road from the beach. During the summer this is a great place to have a light lunch away from the beach or to grab a dessert or cocktail. The menu includes typical snack bar favourites such as the "Zingara" toasted sandwich as well as a good selection of burgers and pasta dishes.
A nice tradition has emerged recently which centres around the collection of pebbles around the edge of the outdoor seating area. If you ask the waiter or waitress for a marker pen you can then write a romantic message on one of the pebbles as seen on the photos above.
The bar stays open throughout the day and well into the night at which point it becomes a magnet for younger visitors looking to have a drink or even a dance at times.
You can also watch regular live sporting events, mostly football matches with several screens around and a good sound system to liven the atmosphere.
To reach the bar, just head for Citara Beach. From the main square opposite the gift shops you can't miss Il Panino which is situated next door to Snack Bar Sacchetti.
