The Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista is located in the village of Buonopane within the comune of Barano. One of the oldest churches on the island, it was constructed in the thirteenth century.
You can reach the church by any of the island's circular bus routes such as the CS or CD, getting off at the village of Buonopane which can be recognised by its mural of the local dance called the 'Ndrezzata. Follow the road with the mural on your left and walk between the rows of houses. The entrance to the church then appears in a tiny square to your left.
