This church is part of the retirement complex of Don Orione. Its origins go back to the retirement home for the elderly poor of the area initiated by Giuseppina Morgera in 1922 – this was called Villa Joseph. In 1957, ownership passed to the Institute of Don Orione.
In 1978 the work of reconstruction and restoration was undertaken and in 1981 the Retirement Home was opened. The church is devoid of any art work.
