The Chiesa Santa Maria La Porta is the pretty jewel at the centre of the village of Piedimonte in the comune of Barano. The church was originally constructed in 1750 and remains open in modern times.

You can reach Piedimonte by following the main road away from Ischia Porto towards Barano. Shortly after passing under the Pilastri Aqueduct you will see a right hand turn for Piedimonte. Take this turn and then the right hand turn into the village with a supermarket at the top of the road. The church is located just to the right of the supermarket.
