The very modern little chapel of Chiesetta del Crocifisso stands in a pretty garden filled with oleanders and olive trees, just off the very busy Via Michele Mazzella.
A simple trapezoidal shape narrowing towards the east end, the unadorned walls fold back, rather like a flow of lava, towards the simple stone altar and crucifix behind it. A concealed window above provides a direct light source which illuminates this focal point of the interior.
There is no other decoration in the chapel, apart from its yellow stone floor tiles and modern, brightly coloured, stain glass windows, decorated with stylized elements of the crucifixion.
The modern façade with bell tower and cross is without any other decoration.
