GOOD MORNING ISCHIA! SATURDAY 5TH OCTOBER 2013
Welcome to our Ischia blog, Good Morning Ischia! Here you can see the entry for Saturday 5th October 2013.
With the weather outlook for the rest of the day not looking particularly promising, today is the perfect day to do a bit of sightseeing around the island. So what can you do in Ischia when it rains? Well there are many places you can visit where you'll be indoors including some of the museums and Castello Aragonese. The castle is to many people the symbol of Ischia and its outward aesthetics are matched by the intrigue once inside. The medievel castle is home to the gruesome "Torture Museum" which shows some of the horrific implements that were used to extract confessions from the poor souls who were imprisoned there during it's time as a jail. Even just hearing some of the names of the exhibits is enough to make your eyes water, including the "Head-Crusher", the "Eye-Spoons" and my personal favourite, the "Testicle-Squashing Trestle"!
For those of you who'd rather find something a little less gruesome and more relaxing then why not try one of the wellness spas where you can have a massage or a range of other treatments that are on offer across the island. If you're not sure where to find your nearest wellness centre then drop us a line, tell us where you are and we'll point you in the right direction.
If you need any suggestions or help on planning the rest of your day then feel free to call on (0039) 328 938 9080 or write to us at the email address below and we'll be happy to help.
Enjoy your day in Ischia!
