GOOD MORNING ISCHIA! SUNDAY 2ND MARCH 2014
GOOD MORNING ISCHIA! SUNDAY 2nd march 2014
Every day we bring you a fresh instalment of our Ischia blog, Good Morning Ischia! Here you can see the entry for Sunday 2nd March 2014.
Good Morning Ischia!
How are you all? It feels like such a long time since I wrote the last blog and I must say I've missed it.
I'll explain why the blog has been so temporary for the last three weeks or so in a moment but let's catch up with what's been happening on the island over the last week, specifically the weather. Right at this moment it's a mixture of grey cloud with a few sunny spells and it's generally a bit damp outside. That dampness comes from a few days of heavy rain which at times turned to storms with thunder and lightning filling the skies last night. The early part of last week was great with lots of sunshine and warmth, particularly in the afternoons when the sun was at its strongest. Things started to turn a bit gloomy on Friday and this little unsettled spell is set to last a little while longer. However, the forecast from next Friday onwards looks fantastic with temperatures set to take a jump up to 18° Celcius (64° fahrenheit) although beware the evenings will be a bit chilly, down as far as 7°C (44°F) on some days.
So we're not quite in spring yet and winter is giving us a little reminder that it's still here, at least for a couple more weeks or so but gradually the island is building up to the tourist season. Many people that work in tourist-related industries such as hotels and restaurants take the chance to do other things during the autumn and winter such as take a holiday or some kind of learning course. The hotels themselves undergo work to make them ready for when they open their doors again around Easter and much of that work is now coming to an end, as are the aforementioned holidays.
Metaphorically speaking, Ischia Review has also been undergoing some quite heavy duty maintenance work in readiness for the spring and summer when we expect (and hope!) to be very busy helping you all with accommodation, rentals, excursions, travel information and lots of other requests to make your holidays that bit more special. The work on the site has been quite intense and time-consuming hence the blog becoming a weekly rather than a daily affair but I'm pleased to say that work is now almost complete. I'm hoping that this time next week you'll all be able to see and enjoy the upgrades and that the blog will go out on a much more regular basis.
Today's photo is once again hosted on our facebook page and shows Forio harbour with one of our fantastic boats that you can rent for the day. This is the Alson 750, one of our more powerful craft and unlike most of our boats you need a licence for this one as it can reach quite high speeds. We've got something for everyone though when it comes to boats so have a look at our boat rentals page to see of anything takes your fancy.
Ok that's all for today, back next Sunday and hopefully with these much spoken about upgrades firmly in place. Keep your e-mails coming in and don't hesitate to ask for help, whatever your query may be.
A presto!
