Good morning Ischia!
Last night's storm seems to have abated and the island is once again becalmed. The storm happened in the early hours and would have gone unnoticed by many who were sleeping at the time. There's a little bit of cloud and rain still around and winds will get up to around 15mph, which is nothing compared to what it was last night, and the outlook for next week is a lot better.
For any film fans out there, you may not know that Ischia has two very good cinemas, one in Ischia Porto and one in Forio. Although almost all of the films are dubbed in Italian, it's still an experience that English-speakers can enjoy. For example, the film showing at the moment in Forio is called "Gravity", a 3D science-fiction drama set in space starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. The visual effects are stunning and with the 3D glasses, the booming sound system and the dark of the cinema, it's easy to immerse yourself in the anxious tension of the film as the protagonists attempt to overcome a series of misfortunes. Tickets are €10 each plus €1 for a pair of glasses, unless of course you brought a pair on holiday with you!
