La Cantina del Sargente is a charming restaurant, somewhat off the beaten track close to the village of Fiaiano. The cavernous main building of the restaurant has the feel of a cantina, kept nice and cool even when it's hot outside. There's also an outdoor dining area, set among the local vineyards.
Specialities include grilled meats and pasta dishes with prices kept reasonable. There's also a good selection of wines available as you'd expect from this wine growing region.

Directions:
To reach La Cantina del Sargente is by no means easy and a car is required unless you happen to be staying in the immediate vicinity. From the harbour area in Ischia Porto, take the road that leads away from the town centre, just after the bus station on the right and with a large oak tree at the bottom. Go to the top of this road and then turn left at the top to cross the bridge. Turn left after the bridge and then stay on this narrow road for a further 5 minutes. When you reach the top of the hill there's an oblong-shaped roundabout with a forest on the left. Turn right here, effectively making a hairpin turn and continue to the top of this road which is also very narrow. As you climb the road you will see a sign for the restaurant on the left with the final 40 metres to be completed on foot.
