Based in Cartaromana Bay with fantastic views of Castello Aragonese, Ristorante Il Giardino Eden is part of the Eden complex of hotel, thermal park and restaurant. The restaurant is famous for its romantic location, especially on a warm summer's evening with its views across to the castle. It has a very light and airy feel to it as it is open around the sides although it is covered by a roof. It specialises in fresh fish but also has a good selection of pasta and vegetables dishes on the menu.
Be aware of the pricing of fish on the menu. The food is excellent but many people get caught out by the price of the fish which is priced per kilo, rather than by the price of the dish itself. Make sure you ask the waiter the price of any fish dish before it is served otherwise this could lead to disappointment when the final bill arrives.
The water taxi from La Mandra Beach is a must, especially on a warm summer evening. This should ensure you get your evening off to a romantic start with beautiful views of the castle in the background as you dine.

It is possible to walk to Ristorante Eden but it is for its access by boat that the restaurant is best known and for understandable reasons. From La Mandra beach in Ischia Ponte you can catch a free water taxi to the restaurant. The taxi boat takes you underneath the bridge that links the castle to the mainland and the restaurant is located at the new Cartaromana beach by the Rocks of Sant'Anna. It's a lovely way to start a romantic evening meal and highly recommended.
However, for those of you who fancy a walk, simply follow the signs from Ischia Ponte, near Castello Aragonese. If you imagine you are walking away from the castle and it is behind you, walk through the main town until you see one of the brown signs saying "Spiaggia Cartaromana", which will be directing you to your left and up a steep hill.
Depending on your level of fitness, the walk up the hill could take between 5-10 minutes before you come to a T-Junction with another brown sign directing you to go left. By following this road downhill for another 5-10 minutes you will come across first Michelangeo's Tower and then the Eden complex of restaurant, thermal park and hotel next door via a small, gated entrance.
