RISTORANTE PIZZERIA BARRACUDA
RISTORANTE PIZZERIA BARRACUDA
Ristorante Pizzeria Barracuda is set in the hilly village of Campagnano and offers a stunning view down to Castello Aragonese, the islands of Procida & Vivara and Mount Vesuvius on the Italian mainland. As you enter the restaurant you walk through a beautiful garden with roses and other colourful flowers decorating the alleyway and the terraces around the main restaurant building.
The menu offers mainly fish based dishes such as pasta with lobster or mixed sea food, prawns and squid, fresh sword fish, sole fish, sea bass, octopus, anchovies, cuttlefish, oysters, red sea bream and more while pizzas are also available.
You can eat indoors if you wish in what is in itself an attractive dining room but this place really comes into its own if you eat out on the terrace which has some of the best views on the island and worth a visit for that alone.
At the back of the restaurant there's also a sea museum displaying rarities of the sea world such as shells, corals, starfish, embalmed fish and the (supposedly) largest shell in the world.

Directions:
If you're planning to visit Ristorante Barracuda it's best to do so by car unless you're staying in the local area although it's also possible to take a bus with the C12 and C13 routes running to and from Ischia Porto with a journey time of 15 minutes. If driving, leave the main SS270 road at the Pilastri Aqueduct and keep going until you see a large white church on the left. At this point, take the right hand turning up the hill and go all the way as it bends a couple of times until you can see the sea down below to your left. At the top of this rise there's a one way system so turn right, left and left again where you will then be in the main church square of the small village. If standing with the church behind you, walk 50 yards or so back the way you came and you'll see Barracuda on the right with a customer car park.
