The first thing to say about Umberto A Mare is that it sits in a fantastic location. With its position at the end of a small promontory, the views across the sea are second to none and as it's also in Forio it has the added bonus of wonderful sunsets. The views have actually been recognised as one of Italy's top ten (Panorama 2005), and it's easy to understand why.
However, the view is not the only thing that makes this restaurant special. The food is of the highest quality, as is the service and this marks out Umberto A Mare as an establishment full of understated class and elegance.

Umberto A Mare is easy to find due its stunning location. It can be accessed from two different entrances. Perhaps the easiest way is from the entrance next door to Chiesa del Soccorso, the pretty white church that sits on a promontory looking out across the sea. From the centre of Forio it's about a 5-10 minute walk to Chiesa del Soccorso and Umberto A Mare where you'll find the entrance just to the left of the church. There is another entrance on the level below, as well as a small car park.
