Villa Carano is situated along a narrow road which shares its name, Via Carano. The closest port is Forio and from there you can reach the villa on foot in about 20 minutes. On arrival at the port, walk right towards the white church on the hill (Chiesa del Soccorso) and then continue under the tunnel. Once on the other side of the tunnel follow the road as it turns right towards the sea and keep walking for around 15 minutes or so until you reach a small roundabout with a statue of an eagle's beak at its centre. Half way up this hill you'll see the Hotel Albatros and just before the hotel is a small side street which is Via Carano. The villa can be found around 75 yards along this narrow road.
