The Chiesa di San Ciro is one of the most unique churches in Ischia with its distinctive and unusual green façade. In fact the whole building was constructed the volcanic, green-tufa stone which can be found in abundance around Ischia's mountainous areas such as Serrara Fontana.
The church is located on the stretch of main road between the villages of Panza and Serrara in a hamlet known as Ciglio. It's one of a number of places that tour-guides stop to show their guests examples of the tufa-stone, another one being the Arca Restaurant which is just around the corner.
