GOOD MORNING ISCHIA! SUNDAY 16th MARCH 2014
GOOD MORNING ISCHIA! SUNDAY 16th march 2014
Welcome to our Ischia blog, Good Morning Ischia! Here you can see the entry for Sunday 16th March 2014.
Good Morning Ischia!
And a very warm welcome you to the updated an upgraded version of Ischia Review! After many weeks of talking about how the website will soon be undergoing a bit of a face-lift I can finally show you all what I've been talking about.
The whole site has been effectively re-built, page by page, word by word with a new style and some new features in addition to the content that already existed.
Apart from the new fonts, colours and headers we've also got lots more pages of information about Ischia. Every one of the 300 or so hotels, apartments, B&Bs, agriturismos, camp sites and hostels now has its own page of photos and information to help your decision making process when planning where to stay on the island. We've also added more pages in the "Things to See & Do in Ischia" section including a big section on churches in Ischia among the new additions.
Please do bear in mind that the new site only went live yesterday so we're still in the process of uploading photos on some pages so if you find something missing or a link that doesn't work just let me know and I'll upload whichever images you'd like to see as a priority. With consideration to anyone who has been using the site recently and finds themselves a little bit lost with some of the changes, please feel free to give me any feedback or even suggestions that you think would improve the site, after all it is here to be a source of help and information and I want it to work as well as possible for all of you.
The best part of the updated site is that we now have much more space than we had before and are able to re-introduce the blog on a regular basis with photos and other content to support it. It'll take another week or two to get all of the photos uploaded on to the various pages and as soon as that process is completed I'll be able to reintroduce the live chat facility so you can get answers to any questions you have about Ischia immediately. Having said that, our e-mail information service is very much alive and kicking and we're able to deal with most queries very swiftly so if there's anything you need to know about travel, accommodation, car rental, scooter rental, boat rental or any of our excursions then please drop us a line at [email protected] and we'll get back to you ASAP.
So back to the main subject, Ischia! Well we've got another beautiful day here in Forio, the temperatures have slowly been increasing over the last week or so and we're in a very settled spell at the moment of sunny, warm mornings and afternoons followed by fairly chilly evenings.
Today for example should see a high of around 16° Celsius (61° Fahrenheit) and dropping a bit this evening to something like 11°C (52°F). The outlook for the next week or so looks very similar with no rain expected and those temperatures creeping up and above 20°C (68°F) for the first time this year. Speaking of rain, we've had none for two weeks now and that meant the garden had its first watering of the year this morning. We've got lots of flowers and shrubs planted in a new section of garden that we're quite excited about and that's something we'll be keeping you updated about with photos of progress throughout the year.
Today's photo has now returned to its usual place on the homepage once more and today we've got a beautiful scene from Castiglione Thermal Park in Casamicciola. The park is one of the very best on the island with pools of various temperatures to choose from as well as an excellent wellness centre where you can get all kinds of treatments and massages. Apart from the thermal water, Castiglione has a beautiful array of flowers all over the complex and for this alone it's worth paying a visit if you get the chance. The scheduled opening date for this year is April 17th and this is more or less the same time that other parks such as Poseidon and Negombo will be opening their doors too.
Ok that's all from me for today. I'm now going to concentrate on getting all those photos uploaded to the site for the next week or so to make sure you've got everything you need to plan your holidays in Ischia or simply to reminisce about some of your favourite places if you've visited before. Like I said, I welcome any questions or feedback you may have about the site, as long as its full of compliments and highly positive! (Joke).
So until the next time.
Ciao!
