Ristorante dei Pirati offers something a little out of the ordinary. It can only be accessed from the water and lies in a scenic location in the Bay of Cartaromana in Ischia Ponte with views across the water to Castello Aragonese.
This is a no frills, family-run restaurant that may appear humble from its external appearance but offers good, home cooked food with friendly service as well as fabulous views. The menu very much depends on what's been caught that morning but the best dishes are typically the Spaghetti Vongole and the mixed seafood salad.
Perhaps the most fun part of the whole experience is getting to and from the restaurant which can be done by water taxi. The water taxis pick up from La Mandra Beach and from there it's a 5 minute cruise across the bay. This is also a favourite stop for people that have rented a boat for the day or have their own. You can call the restaurant on the number written on its side and they'll come and get you from your boat and bring you back on a smaller one. You can also order food that they'll bring out to you if required. If you haven't got a phone you can simply wave to attract their attention!

Directions:
The most conventional way to get to Ristorante dei Pirati is by water taxi. Make your way to La Mandra Beach which is next to the Miramare e Castello hotel in Ischia Ponte and you'll see the jetty next door. Alternatively, if you have a boat then just sail around Castello Aragonese in a clockwise direction and you'll see dei Pirati in the next bay which is called Cartaromana.
