TAVERNA PIETRO PAOLO DETTO STALINO
TAVERNA PIETRO PAOLO DETTO STALINO
Popular with tourists and locals alike, Taverna Pietro Paolo death Stalino has a lively and fun feel to it. The building itself is sculpted out of the local tufa-stone which keeps it cool along with the open frontage which lets the air drift through. The furniture has a rustic feel to it and the service is attentive and friendly.
The menu includes a good selection of pasta, fish and meat dishes as well as appetizers.
The restaurant is on the border between Serrara Fontana and Barano and is accessible from a few different areas. On our directions below we've explained how to get there from Maronti beach but if you do fancy a nice walk of around 30 - 40 minutes you can also reach it from Sant'Angelo. It's a lovely walk with some fantastic scenery but is steep in places and not for the unfit!
For those of you that are still reading.......from Sant'Angelo head down the main pathway into the village but stop just before you reach an archway where there's a small square on your left. From that square follow the steps on the right and you are then on the way to Le Fumarole beach. Just after you pass the second entrance for Aphrodite Thermal Gardens at the end of a steep decline, you will have the beach on your right or another path leading left. Take this left hand path which quickly rises up above the beach. This is the steepest part of the walk so take your time and make sure you've got some water on you.
From that point you simply need to follow the path as it winds around the edge of the cliff with some great views of Le Fumarole and Maronti beaches. The path eventually starts to descend again and when you reach a junction of paths at the bottom, simply head left for Pietro Paolo and Cavascura or right for La Dolce Siesta restaurant and Maronti beach.

Although the restaurant is officially in Serrara Fontana we've included it in the Barano list as it's much easier to access from Maronti beach in Barano than it is from Sant'Angelo in Serrara Fontana. From the main car park and bus stop area at Maronti beach, head right along the beach for around 15 minutes, following the signs for Cavascura. The signs then take you inland along a track where you first pass another of our listed restaurants, La Dolce Siesta, before shortly arriving at Pietro Paolo detto Stalino.
