TAVERNA VERDE
TAVERNA VERDE
Taverna Verde is a family-run restaurant with years of traditional cooking local recipes including the famous rabbit dish "Coniglio all'ischitana". It's located in the hamlet of Ciglio between the villages of Panza and Serrara in one of the mountainous regions of Ischia, Serrara Fontana.
There are two dining area, inside and out with some of the tables providing sea views.
A little tip - once you've finished eating you could go and take a look at the Chiesa di San Ciro just at the top of the hill. It has an unusual green colour due to the fact that it's made from volcanic tuff stone which also keeps it cool during the summer.

Taverna Verde is located in the Serrara Fontana area just off the main SS270 road that circles the island. It is best reached by car and has its own car park next door. From Forio, follow the main road towards Panza and then continue on to Serrara Fontana. The road starts to wind its way up and around the mountain slopes and you will eventually see Taverna Verde just after a bend and on a slope just before the unusual Chiesa San Ciro with its green walls, at the top of the hill.
