Ischia Review in collaboration with our dear friend Luciana Morgera is proud to launch a modern version of the barter system.
Luciana, a resident of our island, had a great idea about a month ago. She created a facebook group called “LA BORSA VERDE 3.0 SCAMBI E BARATTI A CATTIVERIA ZERO” (the green bag 3.0, barter and exchange with zero harm) https://www.facebook.com/groups/279711392207434/ This is an idea that allows Ischians to meet and exchange their home made products and meet new people. Luckily enough many people in Ischia still have a garden where they grow different kinds of fruit and vegetables or even breed chickens, rabbits and other animals. The ones who don’t have a garden are happy to exchange home made products such as bread, yoghurt, cakes and even organic detergent! The group has now reached 500 members in just a month and we would now like to expand the idea to the tourists that come to Ischia on holiday from all over the world. If you are coming to Ischia soon and you are really good at say, basket-weaving (this is for you, Steve and Simone!), you could post on the facebook group page the object you are offering and ask for something home made in Ischia in return (lemons, onions, wine…something convenient to carry with you on the airplane, of course!). If you are coming to Ischia then join La Borsa Verde 3.0 on Facebook now, even if you don’t have anything home-made to offer but you really would like to take something back to your country with the typical taste of Ischia, we’re certain that somebody will have that special something you’re looking for!!! HOW IT WORKSIt's very simple, if you're in Ischia and have something you no longer need, you can offer this item to somebody from Ischia who will give you something from the island in return. Just post a comment below letting us know what you have available and we'll see what we can get for you in exchange! ArchivesCategories |
