THREE BEDROOM SEASIDE COTTAGE IN FORIO

The little hamlet of Zaro, located between the towns of Forio and Lacco Ameno is one of the most scenic and prestigious areas on the island of Ischia and this beautiful three bedroom holiday cottage is positioned right at its heart.
A five minute car journey away from Forio town centre, Zaro is famous for being the home of La Mortella Gardens, the former home of English composer Sir William Walton and his wife Susana Walton who created the botanical garden which is one of the foremost attractions for visitors to Ischia. The cottage is located along a private road in the woods of Zaro and sits next to a small collection of neighbouring homes.
On arrival at the apartment there's a large car park from where you can walk down to the front door. As you enter the home you can instantly feel its charm and character but the eyes are immediately drawn to the wonderful terrace that adjoins the main living area. From this private terrace there are some wonderful views across the water to the distant Chiesa del Soccorso in one direction and the beaches of Chiaia and San Francesco in another. On this terrace there's an outdoor dining table and chairs as well as stone benches with comfortable cushions from where you can sit and admire the panoramas.
From this first terrace there are steps down to a second private terrace where further chairs and a table are located along with a barbecue. This whole area is purely and solely for the use of this apartment. Moving along from these two terraces there's a path that runs through the garden to a shared area with a large outdoor swimming pool as its centrepiece. Around the pool there are deck chairs, parasols and sun loungers for guests to use and this area is shared by around ten other apartments. With the property's location on the side of a hill there's also a private path that leads down to the sea where you'll find little rock pools to bathe in.
Back in the cottage itself there's the aforementioned living room with a couple of sofas, a fireplace, a television and a dining table. From here you can go out to the terrace via patio doors or access the kitchen which is fully equipped with a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, oven, microwave and with crockery and cutlery provided. There's also a separate utility room where the washing machine is housed.
There are three bedrooms in the cottage, two of them with double beds and the third with a single. Next to the bedrooms there are three bathrooms, two of which have showers and WC while the third has just a sink and a WC. One of the main bedrooms has patio doors that lead out on to a third terrace/courtyard with a lemon tree and sea views.
Given the location this cottage is best enjoyed with a car with the nearest shops around a 5 minute drive away. For those guests that are interested in nature there are also some lovely places to walk in the area including the woods which surround it. It's also possible to reach the town centre of Lacco Ameno on foot in one direction and San Francesco Beach in the other with both areas having a good number of bars, restaurants and shops.
