VIA ROMA
VIA ROMA
Photos and description of Via Roma, one of Ischia's main shopping areas.
Via Roma is one of the busiest streets on the island of Ischia as it has a large selection of shops, bars and restaurants. It's popular with visitors and islanders alike and is a very sociable place where people will stop and chat to each other, go for a drink or have a bite to eat.
The road starts from the mini roundabout where Via Alfredo de Luca meets Via Iasolino, the road that leads down to the hydrofoil terminal and ferry terminal. Turning on to Via Roma you're met with a bustling street which eventually joins Corso Vittoria Colonna, officially a street with a different name but which is actually the same stretch of (partially) pedestrianised road. Via Roma finishes more or less as it starts to climb a hill in the direction of Ischia Ponte and it is at this point that Corso Vittoria Colonna begins.
Via Roma is also the road that you will need to walk along if you're heading from the port area towards the town's main beach, San Pietro.
