If arriving on the island for the first time and with luggage then it's best to take a taxi or to drive yourself. The closest port is Forio and from there it's around a 10 minute car journey. With the port behind you turn left on to the main road and keep going with the sea to your left as the road first passes a beach before heading inland. You need to stay on this road as it passes several hotels and shops on each side of the road before eventually sweeping right and up a hill. The road then swiftly turns left and at the top of this hill you need to take a tricky left hand turn against the traffic so make sure you're in the right position to do that. This is the road which is signposted for La Mortella Gardens and you'll pass the entrance after about 100 metres. Stay on this road all the way to the top and then as it turns right into a residential area. It then turns left and shortly after that you'll see the sign for Villa Punto Caruso on the right.
