Beautifully positioned in the hillside area of Serrara Fontana, Al Comignolo affords fantastic views across Ischia and particularly down to Sant'Angelo. The restaurant is fairly large and has several seating areas on different levels including the panoramic sun terrace that also has shaded areas for when it's simply too hot under the sun.
This is a good, family-run establishment with friendly service to match, serving traditional Ischian cuisine such as pasta and rabbit and a good variety of well-known dishes from mainland Italy.
Although most easily reached by car you could also include this restaurant if you're out trekking in the local area as it's a great place to stop and admire the views.

Directions:
Al Comignolo is situated in the hilly area of Serrara Fontana close to the slopes of Mount Epomeo. Best reached by car, the restaurant is just off the main SS270 road that circles the island. From Forio take the main road towards and then past the small town of Panza. The road twists, turns and climbs for around 10 minutes as you pass some of the other restaurants listed on this guide such as Sole Nascente, Taverna Verde and Ristorante L'Arca. Al Comignolo can be found on the right hand side of the road shortly after passing the ark-like building of Ristorante L'Arca. The restaurant is well-signposted and also has a small car park available.
