The Chiesa di San Rocco was constructed in the early seventeenth century and is located in the village of Barano. There are in fact three churches in and around Barano village, the other two being Chiesa di San Sebastiano Martire and Chiesa Madonna del Carmine.
To reach the Chiesa di San Rocco you can travel by car or bus along the main road that circles the island. From Ischia Porto, head east on the SS270 where you will pick up signs for Barano. The road eventually climbs a hill and passes a turning for Maronti Beach on the left. Carry on straight ahead at this stage and you will soon see one of the other churches (Chiesa di San Sebastiano) as you turn the bend and enter the village. Chiesa di San Rocco is the church at the top of the village with the predominantly yellow façade.
