The Chiesa Santa Maria di Costantinopoli was built in 1777 and is situated in the village of Testaccio, one of three churches within a very short distance of each other, the others being Chiesa della Madonna Assunta and Chiesa di San Giorgio.
This is one of those churches on the island that can be a little bit tricky to find at first as it's hidden away from the main road. However, the rear section is visible from the road that leads down to Maronti Beach which gives you a clue on how to reach it. At the centre of Testaccio is a snack bar called Bar Gina, if facing the bar, turn right and then take the first left where you will see a road split in two directions. Turn left at this point and after a few yards you will find the church in its unlikely position among a row of houses.
