Morning all! We've got a beautiful day on our hands here on the last day of May. The weather has been a bit up and down over the last month but looking at the forecasts now we're set fair for the foreseeable future. Temperatures today should be up around 24°C (75°F) by this afternoon and no lower than 20°C (68°F) this evening so no jackets or jumpers necessary. I can feel in my bones that it's going to be a really busy weekend here, a combination of the great weather and Saturday being a national holiday in Italy (La Festa della Repubblica) means we'll see a larger influx than usual. It's been fairly quiet here of late so it'll be nice to see the buzz returning. For today's photo I've chosen Castello Aragonese in Ischia Ponte. It's more than 6 years now since I first saw it but it never fails to dazzle me. When you walk through Ischia Ponte and see the castle looming at the end it has a magical presence and from certain angles just seems to be hovering over the water. This really is a must-see for any visit to the island and the village itself is also a great place to visit day or night with lots of bars, restaurants and shops to browse through. Anyway, remember I'm here to help you enjoy your time on the island in whichever way I can so feel free to ask if you need some ideas or inspiration for things to see or do. I'll be back with another update soon so keep an eye out for that both here on our homepage as well as on our social networking sites. I hear from so many of you by e-mail but it would also be great to see more of your photos so please feel free to post those with any comments on our Facebook page. Ciao :-)

Buongiorno everyone! How are you all today? It's a glorious spring day in Ischia and you really have to ask yourself "can it get any better than this?". We're in that period of the year when the island's natural beauty comes to the fore. Wherever you walk you're never far from the hypnotic aromas of jasmine filling the air or the array of yellows, purples and reds creating a beautiful tapestry of colour. I've been out and about this morning and enjoyed walking in Panza where you can get some of the best views on the island. The one in today's photo for example was taken from the Villa Lina yoga retreat where the lucky guests awake to this natural spectacle every morning. In terms of the weather we're only just starting to get back to what would be considered normal temperatures for the time of year. We had some freak temperatures last week that made it feel like winter at times so it's nice to see things getting back on track. Looking at the week to come, Monday and Tuesday might see some cloudy spells while the second half of the week looks really positive. Temperatures should vary between a low of 18°C and a high 24°C (64°F - 75°F) so really lovely temperatures during the day time and perhaps the need for an extra layer if you're planning on staying out all night. Keep all your requests coming in, it's getting really busy now but I'm always happy to help if you need pointing in the right direction for something. I'll be back with another update soon. Ciao :-)
Hello all! My blogging has become incredibly inconsistent over the last few months but I'm now back in position in Ischia and ready to share my thoughts, photos, weather updates and snippets of the latest goings-on around the island. The reason for my recent lower-profile is a very exciting project that I've been working on that will be revealed in the fullness of time (think - Dick Van Dyke working on Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in his garage with tools flying around, lots of noise and no sign of an end product before the big reveal!). Right now it's time to concentrate on Ischia and with the season really getting under way now we're in for a wonderful summer. So watch this space for more frequent updates and just let me know if you'd like a sneak-preview of the new project. To avoid any future disappointment I can confirm that it's not a flying car so I'm sorry if I briefly got anyone's hopes up there. Right now it's early evening and the sun is shining after a day that's had its fair share of cloudy spells. Temperatures are a bit low for the time of year, hovering between 18° and 20°C (64° - 68°F) but the outlook is for a dry week ahead and those temperatures will start to creep up soon. Ciao :-)
