I know it's officially a bit early to say it but anyway I'll get my "Happy Easter" in now while I can! This is a hugely important time in Ischia, not just because of the religious aspect but because the very life of the island is a mirror of the events of Easter. In terms of toursim, Ischia goes through a hibernation from November until April with most hotels, restaurants and thermal parks closed. So Easter not only brings the nicer weather and longer evenings but a real flinging open of doors to usher in the new season with new energy and enthusiasm. To really get a feel for the time of year I'd recommend visiting Forio this evening for the Passion of Christprocession. That starts between 8 and 8 from Forio port and most of the island will be there to watch it. Buona Pasqua a tutti! :-)
