Good morning everyone! Controversy reigns this morning in Ischia with news filtering through about the Pilastri Aqueduct located between Ischia Porto and Ischia Ponte. Rumours have surfaced of a scheme to use the aqueduct as a means of transport from the hills overlooking the port area down to the two town centres. Ischia Review understands that the plans involve small boats that will float along the top of the aqueduct as not just a means of transport but also a unique visitor attraction. Visitors will be able able to enter boats from different terminals in Fiaiano and Casamicciola, arriving at their destinations within a few minutes. The plans are being hailed as an environmental masterpiece and expected to be the first of similar schemes across Italy. More on this soon. Ciao ;-)
