Afternoon everyone and what a beautiful afternoon it is too! They said it was going to rain today but so far all we've had is beautiful clear skies and just a light breeze. "They" say it's due to rain later but it doesn't look like it's imminent and we'll hope they've got it wrong again. The temperature right now is 14° Celcius (57° Fahrenheit) in the shade but feeling much warmer than that in the sunshine. It'll get a bit chilly this evening as it goes down to about 7°C (45°F) but we look set for a cracking weekend and early part of next week. There's definitely a sense that the weather is changing and spring is in the air, the best evidence of this is the blooming, bright yellow mimosa trees that you can now see all over the island, such as the one in today's photo. Evening all! A late weather update today with lots of Ischia Reviewing taking up time this morning and afternoon but the good news is that we've had a great day and we really seem to have turned a corner with the weather. Today has been sunny at times with a few clouds around but generally speaking the air just feels that bit warmer. Right now at 6:30pm it's just getting dark and the temperature is 12° Celcius (54° Fahrenheit) and that should drop no lower than 8°C (46°F) by midnight. Tomorrow looks a bit "iffy" but Saturday and Sunday should be very nice with plenty of sunshine around. Ciao a tutti! So what's the weather doing today? Well it's being a bit miserable is what it's doing but hopefully not for much longer! Right now the rain that was forecast is here and has been for large parts of the day. It should stay like this for the rest of Wednesday and then clear up tomorrow morning. The current temperature at 4:30pm is 10°C (50° Fahrenheit) and with the heavy cloud cover that should stay pretty much constant throughout the evening. The general trend over the next 7 days is for lots of sunshine with some occasional showers (rather than the other way around as it's been recently!). Today's photo comes from Negombo Thermal Gardens in Lacco Ameno which will be re-opening for the summer season on April 22nd, something we're all looking forward to! A domani :-)

Afternoon all! As predicted we've got a bit of a damp and gloomy day and at the moment it looks like it'll stay this way until Thursday afternoon at which point it should start to clear up a bit. Right now at 2:45pm it's 13° Celcius (55° Fahrenheit) and as we get through to midnight it'll drop very slightly to 11°C (52°F). The forecasts for the rest of this week are a bit mixed so we'll hedge our bets for now and see what happens. Either way, next week looks like it should be much nicer as we head into March and get closer to spring time! Today's photo comes from Ischia Ponte where you'll find the beautiful Cartaromana Bay. Just in front of the bay are the Sant'Anna Rocks, underneath which lies an old mill which is now completely submerged and a great snorkeling spot! A domani :-)

Good evening everybody. It's a bit of a late weather update today but what I can say is that we've had a beautiful, sunny afternoon which comes as a great contrast to the rain we had yesterday. The temperature this afternoon was around 14° Celcius (57° Fahrenheit) and as we get towards midnight it'll drop down to 9°C (48°F). There is some more rain expected from tomorrow afternoon and into Wednesday but things are looking good for the weekend with a nice jump in temperatures and lots of sunshine forecast. Today's photo comes from Lacco Ameno, the place where Italian film director Angelo Rizzoli arrived in the 50's and turned the island into a chic tourist destination. Afternoon all! We've got a damp, rainy Sunday in Ischia I'm afraid. After some heavy rain overnight we've had a series of downpours this morning including one right now. With the time just coming up to 2pm the current temperature is 13° Celcius (55° Fahrenheit) but it shouldn't go any lower than 11°C (52°F) at its lowest point. Looking ahead, there are further showers forecast until the middle of next week but things are expected to brighten up from Thursday onwards. Today's photo comes from Forio, just under Il Torrione there's a space filled with ceramic nameplates that show the town's family nicknames, usually written in Neapolitan. Hello everyone and welcome to the weekend! We've got a bit of an overcast day here today but as yet the rain has held off. Right now at 12:30pm the temperature is 12° Celcius (54° Fahrenheit) and with the cloud cover that should stay fairly consistent throughout the day, making for a warmer night time temperature of around 9°C (48°F). Rain is expected after 7pm and will be accompanied by some moderate winds for the following 24 hours. The early part of next week will see a mixture of sunshine and showers and gradually improving as the week goes on. Afternoon all. The working week is drawing to a close (for most people anyway) and I suspect you're all starting to turn your attention towards the weekend. We've had another nice day in Ischia, still a little short of what you'd call warm but there's been plenty of sunshine around and just a bit of wind. Right now at 430pm it's 14° Celcius (57° Fahrenheit) but that will gradually drop to a minimum of 7°C (44°F) towards midnight. The forecast for the weekend isn't great with a bit of cloud due tomorrow morning followed by a potential storm later in the evening and into Sunday. Good afternoon everyone. It's just past 1pm and we've got another bright and sunny day with clear blue skies. Unlike yesterday there's hardly any wind around so it's feeling really quite pleasant. The temperature right now is hovering around 12° Celcius (54° Fahrenheit), dropping down to a minimum of 6°C (43°F) tonight. Tomorrow should follow the same pattern as today but there does seem to be some rain forecast for Saturday and then a storm on Sunday. Heading into next week we should see a slight increase in temperatures, particularly in the evenings so maybe we can start to think about turning those heaters off soon! Buon pomeriggio a tutti! We've got another bright, sunny day in Ischia but the real weather news surrounds the wind which has been very strong today, up around 20mph at times. It's still a bit blustery but not as bad as it was earlier and right now at 3:30pm the temperature is 13° Celcius (55° Fahrenheit). With no cloud cover to keep the warmth in it'll be another cold (but starry) night, dropping down to a minimum of 4°C (39°F). Today's photo comes from Fisherman's Beach which lies between Ischia Porto and Ischia Ponte, on a day like today and if you're lucky, you might just see the odd brightly coloured parachute which can only mean one thing, kite-surfing! It looks extremely difficult and probably dangerous but it's great fun to watch at least. Back tomorrow, ciao :-)
