 Pine Trees in Casamicciola Buona sera everyone. It's been a beautiful day in the most part today, hot and sunny from early this morning right through the afternoon although just over the last couple of hours it's clouded over again. Even with the sun gone it's still warm enough to have all the doors and windows open and very little need for clothing. Right now at 7pm it's 22° Celsius (72° Fahrenheit) and with hardly any breeze around there doesn't seem to be any sign of the cloud lifting soon. In fact looking at the forecasts it could be a cloudy morning tomorrow with a small chance of overnight rain. Things should clear up again by the afternoon though with the rest of the week expected to be very pleasant. Today's photo comes from Casamicciola and I'll be back with another update tomorrow.
 Fishermen's Beach, Ischia Ponte Hi folks. It's a wonderful start to the new week in Ischia. This morning there were a few clouds around early on but they soon disappeared to leave us with a beautiful sunny day and just a slight breeze, perfect holiday conditions in other words. Right now at 4:15pm it's 24° Celsius (75° Fahrenheit) and things are expected to remain settled for the rest of today and into tomorrow. There's a threat of rain on Wednesday but apart from that it's expected to be a very pleasant week. Today's photo comes from Fishermen's Beach which is situated between Ischia Porto and Ischia Ponte. This is a great place to take a leisurely walk, perhaps to work off lunch or dinner, with several beaches and nice views to keep you company along the way. Back with more tomorrow. Ciao :-)
 Le Fumarole Beach, Sant'Angelo Afternoon everyone and I hope you're all enjoying a buona domenica. We've had a bit of a strange weather day so far and certainly not what was forecast yesterday. It's been noticeably hotter today, muggy even, but the dominant feature this morning was the hazy cloud. The sun has broken through on a few occasions though, along with a nice breeze this morning. Right now at 4:45pm it's 25° Celsius (77° Fahrenheit) and just as I type the sun has flickered through to reveal itself again. Tomorrow and for the week that follows we should see more sunshine but conversely a slight drop in temperatures. For anybody arriving on the island over the next few days, be aware that Thursday is a national holiday in Italy and things will be quite busy here. Back again tomorrow. Ciao :-)
 Il Fungo Beach, Lacco Ameno Hello everyone. It's a typical spring afternoon in Ischia, nice and warm but above all, peaceful. Gazing around at this time of day you'll find most people doing very little, either lying on a beach, sitting in a bar or typing a weather report (ok that last one might just be me). Looking up at the sky it's not totally blue but at the same time there aren't really any clouds either, more of a hazy sunshine if you like. Right now at 5pm it's 25° Celsius (77° Fahrenheit) and conditions should remain steady for the rest of the evening. Tomorrow promises to be very similar to today and things are also looking good for the coming week. For today's photo I've chosen the sparsely populated Il Fungo Beach in Lacco Ameno which pretty much sums up the mood here. Back tomorrow. Ciao :-)
 Forio Harbour Afternoon folks. It's that time of day again where I provide a little update on the current, recent past and near future weather in Ischia. It usually coincides with the whole island generally waking up from its post-lunch slump, helped on by around 50,000 simultaneous cups of strong espresso being drunk, one of which is mine. We've got an absolutely gorgeous day today with hardly a cloud to be seen so far and it's feeling nice and warm too. Right now at 4:30pm it's 24° Celsius (75° Fahrenheit) and aside from a light breeze there's really very little to report. The next two days should see a significant jump in temperatures so make sure you put a lot more (i.e. "some") sun-cream on than I did last weekend before getting burnt.  Cartaromana Bay, Ischia Ponte Hello again everyone. The weather is behaving itself much better today after yesterday's little petulant outburst of heavy winds. In the same way you may expect from an adolescent teenager after a day of rage things have once again returned to a state of tranquillity. Early this morning there were a few clouds around but they soon burned away to leave us with an ideal spring day with low winds, plenty of sunshine and a navigable sea. Right now at 4pm it's 22° Celsius (72° Fahrenheit) and the forecast for the rest of the evening is very pleasant. Tomorrow should follow a similar pattern and by Friday we expect a big jump in temperatures. Today's photo comes from Cartaromana Bay in Ischia Ponte, a great spot to spot with a boat for some lunch.  A Wind-swept Forio Afternoon folks. It's one of those days where you need to hold on to your hats, or better still not wear one at all! The strong winds that were forecast duly arrive last night and built up a head of steam throughout the early hours of this morning leaving some pretty nasty conditions out at sea and causing havoc with travel plans. Apart from that it's been sunny and warm away from the wind with the temperature right now at 4pm 20° Celsius (68° Fahrenheit). There's still a bit of wind around now, around 25kph but that should gradually start to die down throughout the evening to leave a calmer day tomorrow. Expect plenty of sunshine for the rest of the week and slightly warmer temperatures too. Today's photo perfectly shows the conditions in Forio this morning. Ciao :-)
 Micro Taxi outside Castello Aragonese, Ischia Ponte Afternoon everyone. If any of you saw my update yesterday you might just be wondering where I get my weather forecasts from and I can tell you I'm currently wondering where the forecasters get their forecasts from! At 8pm last night the prediction for today was for sunshine all day but it simply hasn't turned out that way. Apart from a few sunny spells this morning it's been largely cloudy overhead and that remains the case right now at 3pm with a temperature of 20° Celsius (68° Fahrenheit). Two different forecasts are even showing the wrong current weather but they are both predicting heavy winds this evening so let's see how that pans out. Today's photo is the most iconic of Ischia you could find, a micro-taxi and Castello Aragonese! Back tomorrow. Ciao :-)
 Evening folks. The gorgeous weather continues with another day full of sunshine and blue skies. It's been really quite hot today as well with temperatures reaching 26° Celsius (79° Fahrenheit) for the second day running. Best of all, there doesn't seem to be any let up in the conditions for at least the following week so it really is a great time to visit. Over the last few days there have been some changes to the schedules for various boat trips including the most popular tours including Positano & Amalfi, Capri and Sorrento. For each tour you'll find new schedules with pick-up locations in Forio, Lacco Ameno, Casamicciola and Ischia Porto.  Bay of Sorgeto, Panza Buona sera everyone. We've had a fabulous day of weather in Ischia today and it feels like the summer starts here. Being the weekend it's been noticeably busier all over the island with most of that activity centred around the beaches. The temperature has taken a huge leap forward from what it's been on previous days and right now at 6pm it's 26° Celsius (79° Fahrenheit). It finally looks like the fine weather is here to stay as well with plenty more of the same predicted for the week to come. Today's photo comes from Sorgeto Hot Springs in Panza, one of the unique spots of Ischia where you can bathe all year round in warm thermal water. Of course it's always best enjoyed on a nice, sunny day like this and best of all it's completely free of charge! Back tomorrow. Ciao :-)
