Good afternoon to all our readers and Ischia fans everywhere! It's the start of a busy bank holiday weekend which stretches all the way until Tuesday when Italy celebrates its national holiday, La Festa della Repubblica. As such, the island has filled up nicely and it's easy to notice the difference in the bars, shops, restaurants and beaches. We're in for a cracking weekend of weather as well, today is sunny, if a little windy and right now at 2:30pm the temperature is 23° Celcius (73° Fahrenheit). Tonight's minimum will be around 14°C (57°F) and we'll see a steady rise of the mercury over the next few days, reaching 30°C (86°F) by Friday. Today's photo shows one of many great places to stop with a boat, a secluded beach in Casamicciola. Back with more tomorrow, ciao :-)
Afternoon everyone, not long until the weekend now although I suspect some of you out there will be abiding by POETS law ;-) We've got another beautiful day, lots of blue everywhere, punctuated not so insignificantly by a big burning blob of yellow a bit further up. Right now at 2pm it's 22° Celcius (72° Fahrenheit) and the rest of the day will remain glorious, dying down to a minimum of 16°C (61°F) tonight. Looking ahead at the next seven days there's really very little to report apart from much more of the same but all at a slightly higher temperature, more mid-twenties than low-twenties from tomorrow onwards. I'll leave you with an image of some classic Vespa scooters in Forio outside Chiesa del Soccorso. Have a great weekend! A domani, ciao :-)
Buongiorno a tutti! Conditions are once again very pleasant in Ischia today. Throughout this morning we've had a mixture of scattered clouds combined with bursts of bright sunshine and a tiny breath of wind. Right now at 1:45pm it's 22° Celcius (72° Fahrenheit) and things should remain steady for the rest of the day with the tiniest chance of a tiny spell of tiny rain, but only an outside chance ;-) Tonight's minimum will once again be 14°C (57°F) and looking ahead for the next three days the forecasts say more of the same but with an increase in temperature of a couple of degrees C. Today's photo comes from one of our selection of luxury villas for rental. This particular one in Sant'Angelo has some stunning views down to Maronti Beach. Back tomorrow, ciao :-)
Afternoon all, we've got a surprisingly nice day here in Ischia which just goes to show you can't always rely on the weather forecasts! What was supposed to be cloud and rain is in fact sunshine and warmth. Right now at 2pm the temperature is 23° Celcius (73° Fahrenheit), accompanied by a medium-strength breeze. Tonight's minimum will be 14°C (57°F), a touch lower than we've had of late and there may be some kind of storm around 8pm but we can't say for sure now can we? The rest of this week looks very positive with the same kind of temperatures at both ends of the scale as what we've had today. Today's photo comes from last week's colourful Ipomea Flower Craft and Food Festival at Negombo Thermal Gardens in Lacco Ameno. Back with more tomorrow, ciao :-)
Good afternoon everyone. We've got another very fine spring day in Ischia, nice and warm if not quite hot but mostly dominated by sunshine with occasional cloudy spells. Right now at 3:30pm its 22° Celcius (72° Fahrenheit), there is a fairly significant breeze around but that will gradually die away as we get through the afternoon and into this evening which should see a minimum temperature of 15°C (59°F). Looking ahead at the rest of the week there's a chance of some rain tomorrow but Thursday, Friday and Saturday are shaping up very nicely. Today's image is another of the iconic micro-taxis or tuk-tuks that are so famous in Ischia. The converted Ape trucks are a great way to get around the island for a guided tour whilst enjoying the sunshine. Back again tomorrow, ciao :-)
Afternoon all! For some of us it's the start of a new working week but I hope everyone in the U.K. is enjoy the bank holiday Monday. Today in Ischia we've had a very pleasant day so far, lots of sunshine, a tiny bit windy but feeling warm, if not quite as hot as last week. The temperature right now at 4pm is 22° Celcius (72° Fahrenheit) and as we get into the evening that'll drop to a minimum of 15°C (59°F). Sunshine should dominate proceedings for the rest of today and into tomorrow which looks like it'll be very similar to today and perhaps a touch warmer too. Today's photo comes from the tiny village of Succhivo near Sant'Angelo, as you walk through the hamlet you'll see all kinds of funky flower arrangements like this. Lovely. Back with more tomorrow, ciao :-)
Buona domenica a tutti! It's a nice, relaxing Sunday afternoon in Ischia, a little bit overcast in terms of the weather but nothing like the bad forecasts we had which now appear to have been a bit exaggerated. There was some wind and rain overnight but right now at 12:30pm it's just a bit cloudy, dry though and feeling pleasant with no wind and a temperature of 19° Celcius (66° Fahrenheit). There could be some showers this afternoon but as we get into this evening it should dry out again with a minimum temperature of 14°C (57°F). Tomorrow looks like it should be quite nice but with a couple of cloudy days to follow. Anyway that's all from me for today, enjoy your Sunday and today's photo of Lacco Ameno, I'll be back with another update tomorrow. Ciao :-)
Afternoon ladies and gents! Despite the gloomy forecasts we've got a lovely, sunny afternoon in Ischia. There's a fairly stiff breeze around but nothing worse than that and right now it's dry even though we've had some showers throughout the morning. At just a little bit past 3pm the temperature is 21° Celcius (70° Fahrenheit) and as we get into this evening that'll drop to a minimum of 15°C (59°F). Tomorrow looks like it might be very similar to today before brightening up a bit on Monday but the week that follows again looks unsettled. Any fans of the rock group Queen may be tempted by a tribute band performance at Bar Delle Rose in Ischia Porto tonight at 8pm but for now I'll sign off with an image of a peaceful meadow in Serrara Fontana. Back with more tomorrow, ciao :-)
Afternoon all. Things are quite pleasant in Ischia at the moment, despite the forecasts of bad weather to come. In fact it's been a bit of a mixed day so far with a few spots of rain followed by some rumbling thunder that subsequently came to nothing. Right now at 2pm it's sunny and we've got a fresh feeling 20° Celcius (68° Fahrenheit) with some winds causing a bit of a stir out at sea. Going into this evening the minimum temperature will be 15°C (59°F) but there are storms predicted for Saturday and Sunday which is a bit mean. Anyway as I said, things are nice right now so it could be an idea to get yourself down to the first day of the Ipomea Flower Craft and Food Festival at Negombo Thermal Gardens in Lacco Ameno, the subject of today's photo. Back tomorrow, ciao :-)
Afternoon everyone. I write to you from a much cooler Ischia than we've had for the last couple of weeks or so. It's clouded over today and there are a few spots of rain in the air too. Right now at 4:45pm it's 20° Celcius (68° Fahrenheit) which is a substantial drop from yesterday. The minimum temperature this evening will be 17°C (63°F) and looking at the week ahead things appear to be a bit unsettled. Tomorrow should stay dry with a mixture of cloudy and sunny spells but the weekend and the days the follow look set to be a bit damp with similar temperatures to the ones we have today. Things change very quickly though so we'll wait to see how that pans out. For now I'm going to leave you with a nice, sunny photo of Lacco Ameno and I'll be back with more tomorrow, ciao :-)
