Buona domenica a tutti! I hope you're all enjoying a lovely, leisurely Sunday. We've got a bright, sunny and at times, warm day here but the strong winds are sticking around like an unwanted guest at a party. When the intermittent wind isn't blowing it really feels like a spring day and right now at 1pm we've got temperatures of 16° Celcius (61° Fahrenheit). That will drop quite a bit this evening, down to a minimum of 4°C (39°F) but feeling colder still as that wind will still be lurking around. That just makes it more important to get out in the sunshine and enjoy the island as it starts to bloom, everywhere you go at the moment you'll see different types of yellow flowers but the most important of which is the mimosa which is gifted to women for "Women's Day" today. A presto :-)

Afternoon all. It's a chilly, windy Saturday afternoon here in Ischia. White horses are galloping across the sea at a rate of knots while doors and windows crash against walls. It's not all bad though and in many ways it's a very nice day with plenty of sunshine around and quite warm when you're away from the wind. The temperature right now at 2:45pm is 12° Celcius (54° Fahrenheit) but tonight's temperature will drop quite sharply, down to around 6°C (43°F) at its coldest point. Looking ahead, there's no sign of rain to come for the coming weeks but the strong winds will be with us a for a few more days yet. My word is it Friday already, and the afternoon too! Well I guess that means most of you are in a pretty good mood and looking forward to the weekend. So far the weather hasn't really been playing its part to aid the whole conviviality of the moment with some really strong winds that have been battering the island for the last 24 hours or so the prominent feature. It hasn't rained so far though and these clouds are due to break up soon. The temperature at the moment is down on yesterday and feeling a bit chilly at 11° Celcius (52° Fahrenheit) and we're set for a colder night as well with a low of 5°C (41°F) predicted. All looking good for the weekend and beyond though. Today's photo is our back to nature retreat in Forio and we'll be back with more tomorrow :-)

Afternoon all! We've had a bit of a mixed day so far today, this morning was nice with a bit of sunshine and warmth around but as the forecasts predicted yesterday, it has since clouded over and we've had a few showers already and heavy at times. The rest of today will be changeable but but but....from tomorrow onwards we look set for a very welcome extended spell of dry weather. In fact there's no more rain forecast for at least the next two weeks and temperatures will be on the rise throughout that time. Right now it's a slightly chilly 10° Celcius (50° Fahrenheit), cooling down to a minimum of 8°C (46°F) by midnight. Hello everyone, it's a beautiful day today in Ischia, much nicer than yesterday with lots of sunshine, mainly blue skies and a very light breeze tickling the sea but failing to make it laugh. The temperature right now at 2:45pm is 17° Celcius (63° Fahrenheit) which is a good deal warmer than it's been in recent weeks. Those temperatures will drop a little this evening, down to around 10°C (50°F) by the time most of us are tucked up in bed. Tomorrow and Thursday look like they could be a bit damp and grey but the outlook for at least the following seven days looks very positive indeed. Today's photo comes from inside Castello Aragonese in Ischia Ponte where you can walk around the fascinating village to see how people used to live here. Back with more tomorrow, ciao :)

Afternoon folks, it's the start of a new week and as forecast yesterday we've got a much cooler day today with lots of cloud cover and a few showers around too. Right now at just after 1pm the temperature is 14° Celcius (57° Fahrenheit) and with the clouds around that should stay pretty constant throughout the night, dropping by no more than a degree or two as we get towards midnight. Spring should resume for what promise to be two lovely days tomorrow and Wednesday while the rest of the week looks a bit harder to call. Today's photo comes from Casamicciola (full name Casamicciola Terme) which was the first town on the island where the famous hot thermal water was found and the home of the first spa in Ischia. Buona domenica a tutti! (Happy Sunday everyone!) Welcome to  the month of March as well as we can finally say good bye to what was a very damp February. It's an absolutely gorgeous day today lots of sunshine and blue skies but best of all it's actually really warm as well! The thermometer outside in the shade is showing a huge increase on what we've been used to over the last few weeks, up to a dizzying 19° Celcius (66° Fahrenheit)! As we get towards midnight that will drop quite sharply, down to a minimum of 7°C (45°F) so still the need for heaters on later. There's a slight chance of rain tomorrow but the rest of the week looks good with temperatures generally on the rise.
