La Corsa dell'Angelo, Forio

Happy Easter everyone, buona pasqua a tutti! I realise my seasonal greetings are at least half a day late but no less heartfelt. This afternoon saw one of the most joyous events of the year take place on the streets of Forio. La Corsa dell'Angelo is a ceremony performed every Easter Sunday and brings the whole town together with people dressed up for the occasion and offering friends and family "tanti auguri" (kind of best wishes). It helps to mark the beginning of spring which is more important here than in many other places as for many people it means going back to work for the next 6 months or so. In terms of the weather it's been a nice, sunny day with temperatures of 15° Celsius (59° Fahrenheit) this afternoon. Back with another update tomorrow. Ciao :-)
