Yachts in Lacco Ameno

Afternoon folks. It's another hot, soporific day in Ischia and one that compels me to explain a little bit the afternoon break that takes place on the island each day. Roughly between 1pm and 4:30pm you'll find most businesses closed except for restaurants who take their breaks at other times. As an Englishman I used to find this break a little odd but after a while you slip into the same rhythm and perhaps start to understand it more. On days like this it's really difficult to work effectively when it's so hot, and you find yourself doing your best work first thing in the morning or later at night when it's cooler. Anyway, I'm now cool enough to tell you that right now at 5:15pm it's 28° Celsius (82° Fahrehneit) and we're in for more of the same tomorrow. Back with more then. Ciao :-) ​
