Forio Harbour

Afternoon everyone. It's a sultry, soporific afternoon in Ischia, sunny at times and kind of cloudy at others with an unpredictable wind that comes in fits and starts. Right now at 3:45pm it's 31° Celcius (88° Fahrenheit) and we're expecting another warm evening with a minimum of 21°C (70°F). Actually today is a special day in Ischia and Italy in general. In the country where every name of a saint is celebrated each day, today happens to be the name day of San Giovanni. There's myth that says you shouldn't swim in the sea today because it's full of knives, a legend that derives from a terrible battle that was fought off the coast of Forio between pirates and islanders! Thankfully the town is a much calmer place these days as you can see in today's photo. A domani, ciao :-)
